Ride to Santa Barbara for Endless Summer Rally

Post by Mike @ NoHo Scooters »

Once again we are riding up to Santa Barbara for the Endless Summer Rally. We will leave the shop at 11AM on Friday September 19th. My wife will be driving the backup truck. There will be a stop in Ventura for lunch at Casa De Soria. We will ride back from the end of the rally in Ojai on Sunday. We are not taking the freeway, except for a small stretch of US101 past Ventura on the way up.

I am in San Luis Obispo- any activities in SB once you get there that would warrant coming south?

The scooter rally is the whole weekend

September 19-21, 2008
Friday September 19th

5pm – 7pm: Meet and Greet at Moto Paradiso/Vespa Santa Barbara, 118 E. Ortega Street (between Anacapa and Santa Barbara Streets), Santa Barbara, CA 93101. Get your rally packs early before the rush! Raffle tickets too!

7pm and on: The Press Room bar, just down the street on Ortega. For those who want to hang out and get the weekend started!

8pm: Speedy night time ride through the Santa Barbara Hills. If you’re going on this ride and planning on going to the Press room you might want to wait till after the ride before having any alcohol!

If you are staying over night here is a link to accommodations in Santa Barbara. http://www.santabarbara.com/lodging/directory/

Saturday September 20th

9am: Meet at Moto Paradiso/Vespa Santa Barbara, 118 E. Ortega Street (between Anacapa and Santa Barbara Streets), Santa Barbara, CA 93101. Get your rally packs and don’t forget the raffle tickets too! For those who haven’t seen the new shop it will be a chance to look around. Everyone is welcome to come hang out, shop, and check out Bobby’s “museum” of vintage scoots. There will be free coffee and donuts, first come first served.

Rally Packs this year include: T-shirt, patch, magnet and poker card with a map of the Saturday Poker Ride route. Included with the purchase of the rally pack you will be given a bracelet which entitles you to food and drink at the BBQ, entry onto the trolley ride Saturday night (there will be a keg o’ beer on board) and executive seating (maybe) at Dargans. The Rally Packs are $25 each. All items are available á la carte also.

11:30am: Poker Ride! You will be visiting some of the parks and vistas of beautiful Santa. There will be one Poker Station at the shop where you will get your card marked before you leave to travel to the other four stops. When you have completed the ride, everyone will be meeting at the PARK TBD for BBQ party, raffle and find out the winner of the Poker Ride!

7:30pm and on: We will be meeting at Dargans Pub which is on Ortega Street just a block away from the shop. There will be a trolley ride picking up and dropping off from Dargans. The first pick up is at 8pm. There will be a keg on the trolley for those who wish to continue their libations while touring around downtown Santa Barbara. The trolley holds a maximum of 30 people. We will determine how many drop offs/pick ups there will be depending on the number of people at the event.

Sunday September 21st

10am: Meet at Moto Paradiso/Vespa Santa Barbara, 118 E. Ortega Street (between Anacapa and Santa Barbara Streets), Santa Barbara, CA 93101. You can start saying your goodbyes and get ready for the final ride of the weekend. We will be riding to Ojai and stopping for lunch at Bocalli’s before heading back to Santa Barbara or wherever home is.

Guess I'm missing the rally AGAIN this year (unless there's free lodging I haven't heard about :)). Sigh. Well, have fun! Guess there's always next year.

We're also out. Going to Tecate on the 21st if anyone wants a beautiful ride from San Diego on Highway 94.
