Here is a picture of a Buddy Italia in action! I was testing out the new exhaust. It's hard to tell a difference on the performance... the sound is sweet though! I think my cop like helmet kept me out trouble on this one!

I went for a long ride today (long at least for me). I rode up to Bartlett Lake, which is Northeast of Scottsdale, AZ on the Verde River. I wanted to go up there for a couple reasons. One, because it's been about a decade since I've been there, and second because it is one of the few roads in the Valley of the Sun which has both hills and turns not associated with stoplights. But it's a long way from my house. About an hour from my house, in fact. Let's just say I'm not ready for the Cannonball Run!

So after about an hour, I get to the beginning of a 15 minute ride that wasn't all that great. The road's rough, and the speed limit's too high. I like the 10-15 minute ride up South Mountain much better. Maybe on a Maxi-scoot, or if I had a few thousand more twisty miles under my belt I would like it better.

But enough complaining. Sometimes you just need to stop and smell the roses:

And get to the lake:

Then back home again - 3.5 hours and 200Kms later. All in all a nice day - except for the sore butt.
The majority is always sane - Nessus

just got back from doing about 80 miles in and around seattle... I actually out of nowhere ran into one of my buddies who rides an Atomic Fireball Stella! and he showed me some great scenic rides around the area.

The first two pictures are under the Fremont Troll, under the fremont bridge.

The second one is of our rides taking a bath!

That's awesome! Can you tell me who organized the event and how it was done?

A ModernBuddy Photo Scavenger Hunt would be really cool.

I'm thinking it would have to be features and things that are pretty universal, but wouldn't be too easy. Failing that, we'd have to have enough items that people in different locations at least had a chance.

I'm working on a lot of site stuff right now, so if anyone wants to help put something like this together, PM me and we'll talk.

hey... its almost the weekend... are we going to have our first photo scavenger hunt subject on Friday?
I say announce one new "subject" each Friday until Labor Day.
Maybe start with something easy for the first week???? Scooter with Fire Truck or something like that?

Cool. I'm indecisive, just pick something and let's do it... Firetruck is fine with me unless you have another idea. How about making a new thread in the gallery to announce it. Looks like you're kinda "in charge" on the subject since no one else is saying anything. This should be fun!

Actually Eric & I exchanged PMs about it a few days ago....
I just PM'd him & hopefully we can get this going today.
(its still early in Calif.)

I am happy to start it out... but I think someone like Eric, needs to oversee it.... so everyone just dosent thow up their own photo subjects every friday.

Just my $.02, but just one thing per weekend doesn't seem like too much of a challenge.

Well... I was thinking the following.... run it for 14 weeks with a new photo subject added every Friday.
some subjects might be easy - scooter with a fire truck
some might be harder - scooter with national monument
(I am know Eric has some ideas & others have PM'd him some as well... thats why I am waiting on him to kick this off)
If we only have 20 people (out of the 2,0000 on this board) playing along, we should end up with 240 photos by Labor day.
I think the challenge will be that some items will be harder than others (impossible for some) and that it will run ALL SUMMER LONG!
I like that part of it (all summer long) as it encourages everyone to take a fun ride every week of the summer.... & as new people join the board, they will be able to jump into the scavenger hunt.
I do think we should have some easy subjects so everyone who wants to participate will be able to on some weeks. - the more people who play along, the more fun it will be.

This was a byproduct of the other scavenger hunt photos, but I think it's more striking for this topic.

Location is self-explanatory.
