minor cosmetic mods

Post by fs8gbe »

finally got around to de-stickering the blur tonight, and it looks pretty good. almost like a clean shave.

i figured while i was at it i would pull off that huge honkin mud flap, and did that as well. i took pics, but with my camera phone, so they may be sort of crap (thanks sprint for hyping up the mildly doa samsung instinct...)

now i just have to take the orange bits off and figure out what color to paint them, or what pattern.

does anyone know the best way to paint the rims? i'm thinking krylon for the rest of the orange, but don't know if the rims would take krylon or not. i know one of you that is selling has done this, any thoughts, tips, ideas?

Auto parts stores sell spray paint for wheels. I've had good luck with duplicolor. For the body, use spray paint for plastic, there are threads about that in the buddy section.

Painting your rims

Post by davelhunter »

I "roughed up" the rims with some steel wool, then used "bulldog" adhesive promotor (home depot or lowes). I then used semi gloss black rim paint from advance auto parts. Works great! My friend did the same with Krylon and steel wool, without the bulldog and his has no problems also.

I think those orange wheels are the best "Get seen" devices on the Blur.
One of the reasons I liked the orange over the black Blur's.

White would be my preferred Color for a bike, scooter or motorcycle for sure.
