Just giving this a bump...two weeks from today! I've got a sign on my milkcrate encouraging those who have a bike but don't commute with it to join me on June 15th.

I work from home but am planning a 60mi commute that day in support of the event... up the coast, Mulholland Drive... aw, heck, maybe I'll just call in sick and keep riding...

Haha, that's why I put the sign on my milkcrate inviting the non-commuters with bikes to join me on the 15th. It'll be a little parade led by the pink princess!

Heh, thats an awesome idea. I suppose I could talk some of the others I work with into riding in together. I've gotten over half my office on 2 wheels now, and I think I'll have most of the rest doing so as well by the end of the summer.

Rode to work today for the first time in months. Beautiful morning. Rode home in light rain with occasional thunder. RoadToads by FroggToggs worked like a champ.

I plan on riding pretty much very day for the rest of the summer unless weather or my health prevents it. I'll be sending out a note at work to encourage riders to try to squeeze me out of my motorcycle parking area on the 15th.

No, I'm not embarrassed to be seen riding it.

So, ECS, will you be joining us for the Thursday night ride from Tulsa Scooters tomorrow?

As usual we'll find out when we get there. I'll have a full tank of gas.

There's a city council meeting June 16 here in Cincinnati to discuss adding more parking spaces downtown. Might be kind of fun to overload the city with bikes on the 15th. :)

Exactly! City Councilmembers do not realize how difficult it is for bikes to park. When I pointed out to one of our very active Councilmembers that the new pay-to-park system that generates a paper ticket I'm supposed to put on my dashboard doesn't work for a bike, he looked at me and said, Gee, I never thought about that. Well of course you didn't, my sweet elected friend, because you don't ride. If it weren't for the kindness of a state senator who owns a restaurant downtown (and rides a Buddy) and lets me park on the sidewalk near the dumpsters (that are lovingly guarded by the great staff at the place), I wouldn't ride into downtown.

I tried to get our Mayor to issue the RTW Proclamation, but he's tied up in a dispute with our firefighter's union while hosting the nationwide Mayor's conference this weekend, so I doubt he'll be riding to work on his Harley on Monday. Although it would relieve some stress...
