I like the mirrors painted, did you use any kind of promoter on them since they're chrome?

Just some light sanding. I painted the mirrors last summer and they seem to be holding up well so far.

What kind of paint did you use for the matte black? Nice!

I will not lie, I really liked the Bengals Buddy, but that flat black paint job is well done! It's hard as crap to get a coat that even, what paint did you use?

I'm going to have to look into that if I don't buy some aftermarkets.

If you paint it again why don't you fill in those punch out holes up front?

I used Rust-oleum Universal all-surface paint. I picked it up at Home Depot.

Regarding the punch holes... that would require me to buy some filler, and wait for it to dry before I paint. FYI I am not a patient man. Plus I am not sure where you can buy such small quantities. I didn't want to have a ton of leftover bondo.

O'reilly's sells some sandable epoxy that works nice with plastic and dries quick too, it's around $5. You can take a soldering iron w/ some plastic chips and melt them in the gaps, that's known as plastic welding, iron is around $10. The best thing to use is FUSOR, it's in a big tube, but it's $40.

No matter which one you'd have to sand all the paint off which isn't a biggie. When ever I decide to repaint mine I'll be filling in those gaps for sure, that's really the only reason I want to repaint it. I'm trying to think if there is anything else I want to shave while I'm at it as well.

Are you going to leave the floor and seat that tan color?

That looks awesome. I still haven't ever taken a panel off Scootle and you guys are painting your scoots every few months.

I'm tempted to drive down to Rusty and pay him to paint mine Aqua Orange and White for the Dolphins.

What say you?

Angela -Yeah I am planning on leaving the seat brown, but might change the floormat to black as the brown is not currently in the best condition. Why are you trying to snag a brown seat? :D

Gearhead -I do like it better than the solid sunset color. I did like the sunset, but think I needed a change. I really like it with the brown seat but am not 100% sold on the lighter orangeish/brown interior panels. It's too late now as I am not making any more changes. I don't ever want to go through the dismantle/reassemble again.

Sotied- Maybe I hear a new job calling for me. I don't suppose I could make a living off of scooter painting.
