How Old Are You?
On the heels of the resurrection of the long-dormant original "So How old are you?" thread, I give you the new, improved, and purely quantitative obigatory age check poll. (I appreciate that the poll options in the former thread were meant as fun but members got irked when they didn't fit in and couldn't respond.) No, the new poll options are not evenly distributed. This is for fun and FYI, not stats class.
If you'd like to add your precise age and other identifying info (kids, no kids, grandkids, pets, house, apartment, whatever) feel free to do so.

Oh, just around 8 months for me.TVB wrote:So how long have you been 39? I celebrated my 39th birthday for the sixth time last month.ericalm wrote:If you haven't figured it out, my age:
Married, no kids, one cat, house. Living in LA, scootering and not being a parent has allowed me to delay becoming a grownup.
I'm on my 3rd Volvo; my first new car ever. I've had two 240s, though. One totaled (I'd have died in a lesser car), one needed expensive repairs to pass CA emissions. There are several Volvo fans on the forum.bgwss wrote:…one 1989 Volvo 240 station wagon (230,000)…

I turned 37 earlier this month.
Have a son that will be 14 this coming Sunday, a daughter that will be 11 in about a month, a dog that is approximately 2 and a fish that acts like he is dead half of the time (Betas suck, just about the time I think it is flush time he decides to swim up to the top of the tank and eat-I have decided he is either very lazy or depressed).
In about a month we will be obtaining another cat to replace the orange tabby that got a little too interested in the train tracks one day when she escaped.
In the spirit of the other thread (I typed "old thread" ) I also have a mortgage, a VW New Beetle (named the NannyBeetle or NannyBug) and recently acquired a F250 to drive my Buddy around but don't tell Charlie Brown (my scooter) that because I don't want him to get too pompous.
Oh, and a job that I am SUPPOSED to be doing right now...

45 and once again disgusted that a poll splits the 40s into "40-44" and "45-49" just to make me feel older!
Single with two dogs (kachoo the pug and Bessie the French Bulldog), a house, a scoot, and a 14 year old Saturn with 225-275,000 miles on it (the odometer died shortly after 200,000 miles). I've given up on getting married.

I cheated and put 30 since it's only a few months away.
GF for 2 months, cat, dog, scooter, compact SUV for hauling stuff, and a pottery business just starting out that I REALLY hope works! Perpetual renter am I, but hopefully that'll change...oh, in the next few years?
I toy with the idea of being a modern nomad, but there's still a few kinks to work out before I see that being viable. For example...how on earth do I fire my pottery on the road?? Hmm....

Do you really have 14 cats? Because everyone thinks I'm crazy and I only have 5. Perhaps there is no correlation? Regardless, thank you for taking care of the cats!Tazio wrote:Currently 71, 0 kids, 0 dogs, 1 wife, 2 scooters, 5 cars, 8 bicycles and 14 cats.

25-29 is in the lead! There is a nice variety of ages here, no 65-69 tho... kinda goes in two humps, like you get a
scooter when you're in your mid 20's, ride it for 10 years then sell it. Then miss it and buy a new one in your mid-40's.

Nope, I'm no longer a minor! I turned 18 this past January. My license still says "under 18 until such and such date" and "MC novice".r0sa wrote:don't be surprised! but ain't that you though?jfrost2 wrote:I'm surprised someone here is under 18.
Learning to drive a car again feels to awkward compared to my scooter, I feel trapped and blinded in a car. I cant lean or anything like I can on the scooter, so boring! I havent driven in over 3 years and went straight to the public roads, drove everywhere and found I still remember how to drive, riding a scooter probably helped a little too.

Abbott: You're 40 years old, and you're in love with a little girl, say 10 years old. You're four times as old as that girl. You couldn't marry that girl, could you?
Costello: No. ?
Abbott: So you wait 5 years. Now the little girl is 15, and you're 45. You're only three times as old as that girl. So you wait 15 years more. Now the little girl is 30, and you're 60. You're only twice as old as that little girl. ?
Costello: She's catching up. ?
Abbott: Here's the question. How long do you have to wait before you and that little girl are the same age?
Costello: What kind of question is that? That's ridiculous. If I keep waiting for that girl, she'll pass me up. She'll wind up older than I am. Then she'll have to wait for me!
