Possible VooDoo T-Shirts?
So, a couple members (mostly babblefish ) were asking about a Voodoo Buddy shirt, so I figured I'd see how many
people would actually buy one. Obviously the more I order, the cheaper they will be each, so let's try to get an accurate
count please. I am trying to find a better deal locally, so I need a rough estimate of how many of each size I should order.
First, you can answer the poll, then be sure to make a post including how many you want and what size(s).
The shirt will look *something* like this (a tentative design that can be changed, also shirt may or may not be white).
I'll probably do something slightly different with the letters if it's on a white shirt so it stands out better...
Ok! Edited to add the simplified black version!
I'm open to suggestions, Thanks for your time!

That will have to be fixed. As in all Blur owners need to flip your engines over.
But seriously, what does a Blur exhaust even look like?

OK, so I might have mentioned it once or twice...
I want 2 mediums please!
How about making the speedometer read something like 90mph? Just wishful thinking...

I see a large (9" wide by 5" tall) Patch in my head all of a sudden.
And I think black is the proper choice for the background

I'd take a dozen or so for Scootmoto if the wholesale price was right.
In my humble but professional (I'm an art director, like 80% of scooterists) opinion, I'd lose (or lighten or scale back or simplify) the text and speedo and make the riders/scooters more prominent. The symmetry and clutter distract from the two awesome illustrations. In fact, I think you've got two great shirts there if you split 'em up.
Bu they're your shirts of course, and I dig 'em a lot just how they are.

Also, yay Blur! The Blur market is small but desperate for Blur-related crap to buy! : )

The speedo should be 88 for all kinds of silly Back to the Future references :p

Well, I wanted 2 different shirts too, but then the order quantities for each would have to lower and I'd have to pay for twice as many screens. The original one I did on a black shirt, with a less prominent speedo (that read something like 120mph). The illustrations were smaller too, it was more like the "Voodoo Buddy" site logo where the 2 buddies are facing away from eachother. It will most likely be on a black shirt and the design can always be tweaked (or totally changed) depending on what looks best. I'm really just trying to get a count to see how many we'll need.illnoise wrote:In my humble but professional (I'm an art director, like 80% of scooterists) opinion, I'd lose (or lighten or scale back or simplify) the text and speedo and make the riders/scooters more prominent. Sorry dj, I was gonna do one with the 2 buddies back-to-back, but decided it would be good to include Blurs. So I just picked the orange one to match the orange rims on the Blur. I did put the whitewalls on it tho if that makes you feel any better.djelliott wrote: I some how got excluded from the picture......sniff....sniff....I'll still buy a couple though. The new Black one is HAWT!
I was going to snap a pic of the Blur today, but the weather's been complete crap lately... rain for a week (and it's that nasty superfine mist downpour that you just can't keep off your visor). The only major note on the Blur is that I don't think anyone uses the bottom part of the rear mudflap.

Ditto on the font. The circus/ creole font really added something, I think.Nice Krusty. Diggin that. I have to say though, I am partial to the original font. It's got that kind of old school New Orleans French Quarter voodoo look to it... I like that
... but everyone's a critic. I say make 'em like you like 'em for two (among many other) reasons:
1) you win at art.
2) we'll be so pumped to wear voodoo buddy shirts, no one will have complaints!

Krusty: I love your revised version! It would look most excellent on a black t-shirt! The only change I'd like to see is to have the speedometer needle stand out a bit more, maybe change it's color to orange? Any way you want to do it is fine by me and I'll still buy two of whatever you come up with.

haha, the mud flap looks funky cuz I started drawing it and then I saw an actual photo and
I was like wo, that mud flap is really long! I think it will look better in the drawing without it.
I mean look at the Buddy mudflap, it's crazy small! The thing is I know what a Buddy looks
like, so I can just draw it without having to copy a photo... the Blur I've never seen IRL.
The problem with the font is that the bigger the images are, the smaller the text has to be,
with such an ornate typeface it might not translate well at such a small size. I'll see if I can do
another one with the carnival-looking font for "voodoo" and something a bit simpler for "team".

Thanks for all your hard work Krusty!
Just keep one thing in mind - you're the artist - what's most important is that it looks good to you and that you're happy with it. Asking a dozen people for their opinion will just get you a dozen different answers.
I'll be happy with whatever you come up with.
