Philly! LASS ride this Sunday, July 12

Post by polianarchy »

The Lazy A$$hole Scooter Society invites you to join us on Sunday, July 12 for a (very small, very short) ride from La Cantina de los Caballitos in South Philly to the Ritz East in Center City. That's from 1651 East Passyunk Ave to 125 South 2nd St. THINK YOU CAN HANDLE IT?! This ride will be moped (27mph, naturally) and 50cc friendly.

* Meet up for tasty "Mexican" food and drink at La Cantina @ 7pm.
* At around 8pm, we'll head up Passyunk to the movie theatre to catch a screening of the film "We Are The Mods" debuting at the 15th Annual Philadelphia Int'l Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.
* The film begins @ 8:45pm
* Members of the Last Call Scooter Club will be at the Fast, Cheap, & Out of Control party @ Fluid, 613 South 4th St, after the movie

Purchase movie tickets here: http://www.qfest.com/film-details.cfm?c=230&id=8978

Heh, that's a little inside joke. The Cantina is infamous for being a Mexican food restaurant with nary a Mexican to be seen. This is funny because across the street is a Mexican food restaurant run by Mexicans. Everyone knows that the food is better at El Zerape, but it's the kind of place where you grab a quick bite or an order for take-out. The Cantina is a kind of "cool" hang out/nightlife spot.
