If I missed a post like this recently...sorry.
Leaf season just hit this week here in the mountains of western NC. The colors are shifting from summer green to explosions of color. Temperatures are fluctuating wildly between morning, afternoon, and evening.
The roads are much more crowded with very distracted drivers who aren't familiar with their surroundings; acorns, walnuts, and the like are beginning to fall; it's dark longer in the morning and light fades sooner in the evening, and Hi-Viz clothing just lost about half it's punch at least. The sun's closer to the horizon throughout it's travels, so it's more likely to get in peoples' eyes sooner and for longer duration.
Not trying to incite panic, just forewarned is forearmed.
Head's up, out there. Happy autumn, and be safe.
