Misc. questions about a Buddy 50

Post by fiddlefan »

Misc. questions about a Buddy 50:

1) When the factory restriction has been removed from the exhaust header, is re-jetting the main jet in the carb necessary, and if so, what size main jet is correct.

2) What is the factory main jet size? The one currently in the carb is a #75, but I don't know if it's been re-jetted by the previous owner.

Thanks!
It's official... I'm a "scootaholic"...even have the custom t-shirt to prove it.

Derestriction

Post by scootergator »

I didnt rejet when i removed the derestriction on my rough house. Make sure you remove the restrictor washer from the drive train or youll have plenty of power going nowhere.

Also I believe 75 is the factory jet but I am not 100% sure.

75 sounds right.

And you should not need to rejet. I think the factory jetting is set up assuming 75% of the scooters sold will be derestricted.

Never hurts to check your plug though.

not sure what the standard jet size is but I can tell ya that no rejetting is nessessary after derestriction.
