Stella 4T 200cc

Post by JNV »

Is Europe getting a 200cc fuel injected Stella? If so, is that supposed to be the rumored big touring scooter in the works from Genuine?

Not a Stella, no.

Unless Genuine has taken to exporting their imports to Europe, or LML has one developed and is using the name as well as exporting them to Europe's higher competition market. Sounds like a bunch of speculation though.

The "touring" scooter is supposed to be 270cc.

On the bright side, though: you're pretty good at being optimistic!

There may be a 4T 200cc engine available as a part from LML this year.

The rumor from a dealer in the UK is that LML will have larger and injected versions available in the future, starting with an injected 150, then 200, then 250. It's still unknown if/when these will be available in Europe (2011 earliest) or whether Genuine has plans to bring them over.

The touring scooter is an entirely new design from Genuine, something we've never seen before in any form. It's (roughly) a 270cc, will have larger wheels, takes inspiration from classic European and Japanese (Fuji) tourers and will be built by PGO. Maybe coming Q4 of this year… maybe…

Stop it. Just stop it! I just can't hear any more about the 270cc Genuine Rabbit. It haunts me now. I think I'd sell my HD for one.

Well… :)

It's a real scooter, not vaporware! I haven't seen it () but know people who have seen the designs or versions of it—all sworn to secrecy. The big question isn't if, it's when!

And the tease goes on. As much as I would love to buy a Genuine Classic Cruiser, and I even offered to be a beta tester, sight unseen, I needed to get a highway-capable cruiser to keep up with my scooter club friends on weekend rides. In December, I bought a new Vespa GTS 250, Dragon Red, 4T, CVT, electronic fuel injection, etc. It is a delightful machine, fast, quiet, comfortable, with dramatic acceleration. I even have a new seat on order from Pirate Upholstery. At some point, I may be tempted to purchase a Genuine Classic Cruiser, when and if it comes on the market, but the bar has been set a lot higher.

A Rabbit style 270cc would be my next scoot hands down.....

I can't take it, doesn't Genuine know what its doing to me. I'm trying to hold out, I'm looking into giving my 50 a stage 2 makeover, but I need this mythical touring scoot. I'm trying to be faithful to the Genuine line, but I need porn, umm..., I mean proof, Genuine give us a picture, just one picture, a drawing, a painting, something to hold us over until you deicde to realease this scooter into the wild.

Does anyone know, outside of MV/MB, what the prevailing opinion of the 4T Stella is?

They'd better hurry up. I'm thisclose to buying a Piaggio MP3 and I simply don't have the room (or the bank account) for 4 scoots!

Ha, yeah. No one outside of the forums and dealers have even seen one. From what I know, as of now there are 2 in CA, both were shown at Indy, both in dealers' hands now and I've seen one of them.

I do think they'll have a lot of appeal among new buyers. Should be interesting.

BTW, another rumor, this time from Australia, of LML producing a 200cc version. They said by Q4 of this year. I seriously doubt Genuine would import the 200 this year or even early next.

Yeah, but it means that a 200cc engine will be available, and presumably obtainable with some work... Hmm, thats very tempting...

Supposedly the engine would be available as a part from LML this year anyway.

Wonder what the laws are for selling engines in CA… Do they need CARB approval? Hmm…
