Scavenger Hunt for Spring/Summer?

Post by ScootLemont »

So... its going to be 60 here tomorrow (first time since november)
and I am getting the itch to ride

Anyone think a new scavenger hunt would be fun this summer?

http://www.timwall.com/hunt/

I look back at the summer of 08 & we had a lot of fun

Remember jmazza with the pic of his scooter in front of Caddyshack's own Judge Smails' house for the golf week?

how about sikken posting up in under 10 minutes for the picnic week? (in her PJs so she could be first)

Staplers in JELLO from the work week?

OScoot! with the parade honor guard for the 4th of July

sailortot's great pic with the statue or jsprandel taking pics all over DC

How about all the great pics at ballparks from baseball week

& the "getting a ticket" photos

There were weeks with 25-30 players!

So... anyone think this its a good idea to fire this up again in April?

'08 was great for the hunt. What happened in '09? I think the hunts got too complicated with too many ways to score too many points. Let's keep it simple and fun.

Welcome back, SL. You've been missed (at least here on the General and Gallery forums, anyway).

Hey thanks.... I have been doing some lurking... just not a lot of posts since the scoot was put away for winter.... not a lot to add to the conversation.

We can do some simple ones... your scoot with a fire truck was pretty easy for everyone.... but some of ones with the extra points made those pretty fun. (gopher on a golf course)

I will start thinking about some ideas to get us kicked off.
Probably the first week in April, unless the weather really breaks before that in the midwest.... if it does we can start is sooner.

If anyone has any suggestions.. feel free to post up here, or PM me, or keep them to yourself for when you win control of the hunt.

very cool Eric - I have a couple ideas to get us started...
I am keeping an eye on the weather so we will kick off when most of our riders in most of the county can play from the start.
Hopefully in a week or two.

I really want to play but could we move the start to either the very end of April or beginning of May?

We are just finishing up a really brutal winter. Right now we have flooding issues, tons of loose gravel on roads and pot holes big enough to swallow

I am keeping an eye on the weather... If it looks like most people can play by the first week in April we will kick it off then.

But.... you dont have to be in at the start to play.
two summers ago we had a LOT of people join in after they saw how much fun we had the first 3 or 4 weeks.

Even after it gets going, some people take a week or two off & then jump back in.

What SL said. Eric's prizes might be nice, but the Hunt is reason enough to join the Hunt. I agree with ScootLemont, Office week was a highlight, and if you haven't yet, read at least that one week's Hunt. It is a classic. One of the best reasons out there to ride your scoot.
