Buying Disc Lock, need help for disc break thickness

Post by Barberry17 »

I am looking to buy this, but do I need the 10 MM or the 5.5 MM for a Buddy:

Trying to buy a disc lock, just as an extra back up (already have the major chain & lock), but want to buy this for when parking at a hotel for my trip across PA next week ( topic15361.html).

I have a Xena XZZ6L for my Blackjack, and according to their website, the spacing of it is 7mm. It fits loosely, but 2mm loosely? Probably, but I can't say for sure.

I, too, would like to know the answer. I've Google'd "Black Jack NCY Big Brake kit width" (among others), all to no avail. I guess it just boils down to what the width of the disc itself is.

This Kryptonite unit is working great for me and it is 5mm:

I think 10mm may be to large.

Edit: BTW - I believe the "mm" measurement is the diameter of the pin and not the width of the disc. So the pin cannot be larger than the diameter of the hole it will be going through.

I believe you're right, jetboy. I found on the Xena page that the width of ALL their disc locks are 7mm (1/4").
