I know something similar was done to a Yamaha Grand Axis on the Total Ruckus board. There might have been some shenanigans to get it to fit, but i think it worked after something or some-other.

Somebody on genuinerattler.com said the crank won't fit. I wanted to buy it bad. He has the cylinder kit only for sale also. That seller is pretty quick to answer questions. I have no first hand experience, but the bws or grand axis kits have worked for others.

I know exactly what you mean. I almost bought the crank to verify for myself. The problem is the rattler/pgo doesn't have a ton of support yet. So I'm always excited to have verification of new parts.

The shipping is a bit steep from autotech, but its comming from the other side of the world so I understand. They sell the bws in Canada and Mexico. So you may be able to re-sell it if it doesn't work out.

so as i under stand it -the rat is a bws 100 stroked to 106-which is why the big bore kits for the bws need a spacer right?
so if we stuff a bws crank and big bore kit it should work,uh,maybe?

the same Guy on genuinerattler that said the bws doesn't fit, says its more than the length of the stroke. Its the bearing diameter. I can't remember the other fit issues. It was close. I am going by his word.

I am posting from my phone but later tonight I could get a link to the thread.

Vespatech posted about a mallossi kit that needed a spacer. The kit your looking at takes it from 52mm to 56. The mallossi is a 57.5. But at a premium price.

Me too!

What's the difference between the malossi 57.5mm kit and the bws 56mm. Spacer wise I mean. Just wondering if anybody knows.

i think they both need a spacer because the rat crank is stroked from a 100
thats how they got that extra 6 cc

what i dont get is why cant we stuff a stroked bws crank and big bore cyl on it?
either way my rat will be bored/stroked/nitrous/supercharged/turbocharged or whatever else i can make work somehow

the only difference is in bore the stroke is the same...malossi being bigger!
I have not found a machinist that has the equipment or capacity period to manufacture this piece for a price that is not too expensive. I would tell you what i paid for each piece, but it is embarrassing.
167.50 EACH I would not sell them for this. Put it this way they work but the windows need cleaned up to match the case. not a whole lot of material but you dont want to grind on a part when you pay that much for it. Most of you may feel this way. I will sell them but first make an offer. and we'll see how i feel about pursuing a waterjet and having a dozen or so made.

im still not too clear on why the rat needs a spacer if the crank is swapped out :?:

why would you remove a quality stroker crankshaft? you could make another fit by equipping the proper size bearings but then you are limiting displacement. modified tranny and flywheel may be necessary as well. I just dont think it would benefit.

so in your opinion the stock crank is a quality one?
if its a good one then ill keep it-but the malossi has got to be better no?

A stroked crank will lower the torque curve in an rpm range.
It depends on what you want out of the engine.

the crank is good. what you need are bearings. the stock ones are sufficient but serious power will require complimented (balanced) bearings.

so i went for it-got the boss(wife)to approve an upgrade
going with the 123bbk from scooterworld guam-should be pretty straightforward and work well with the 26carb and v8 pipe
