brake pads

Post by tempalte »

To my eyes, the brake pads on my blur are looking thin. My 2006 blur has 15,000 bdus on it. (I think that is about 8,500 miles).

Is that about the right to change brake pads? Should I replace both pads and disc?

Should scooterworks have the parts? I don't see blur brake parts on their website.

I have replaced disc brakes on my cars over the years. I am guessing replacing the blurs brake pads would be about the same.

I don't think the units of measurement are quite that far off. From what I could tell it was closer to .8-.9 per 1m on the odo. It was slightly off, but not half the actual (or 6/10ths).

At any rate, your dealer should be able to look up the part numbers. I wouldn't worry about the rotors yet, those should last for more miles than most will put on their scoots. There should be a minimum replacement spec listed in the service manual somewhere, although it's not fresh in my mind.

If you do find the part numbers, let me know and I'll add it to the FAQ under the new model.
