Suzi meets Buddy in Brooklyn Heights

Post by fretman »

Greetings! Haven't been on the forum in a while, and it's been a minute since I traded my Buddies (black 50 and Italia 150) in for my Suzuki 650 - but when I parked next to a Buddy 150 in Brooklyn Heights today, I got all nostalgic and teary eyed. Thought I'd share the pic with you guys.
Happy New Year everybuddy! :D

What, you can't have both?

Friends keep telling me that i'll eventually buy a bike. I'm not so sure...

I've been riding bikes 38 years and just bought a scoot! :)

Nice one, I like the white ls650 the best. I'm glad that bike has stuck around.

I have had many singles. Yamaha sr500, srx-6 , and a klr650. How you liking the Suzuki?
Speed is only a matter of money...How fast do you want to go?

Oh, you can absolutely have both! In NYC, where I live, it's not that practical though... If I had the space, and the money, I'd have a half dozen of each! Or maybe 6 of one and a half dozen of the other...

Yeah, the LS650 model - used to be called a "Savage", later renamed a "Boulevard" - is virtually unchanged from it's inception, in '86. I love it - it's the only mc I've ever owned, so I can't really compare it to anything, but it suits me fine. I do think my next bike will be a standard style, as opposed to a cruiser - e.g. a Triumph Bonneville, or something like that.
I do miss my Buddies, and I do really wish I could have a bunch of bikes. One day I'll move out west, maybe have one o' them things I've heard about in fairy tales, called a "garage"! :)
