Newbie Question - Brake master cylinder Reservoir Cap

Post by JV »

hi all, I am a newbie Stella owner. Just bought a 2005 orange Stella with 470 miles.

I noticed that the brake master cylinder reservoir plastic eye hole to check the brake fluid level wasn't clear but completely white. I guess it turned white through time. So i removed the 2 screws on top of the reservoir cap and the brake fluid was fine. I screwed the cap back on nice and tight and pumped the front brakes. I noticed a bit of brake fluid coming from both sides of the reservoir. I noticed that the cap has 2 tiny vents, one on each side. Is it normal for the cap to have vents? and if so is it normal for it to leak slightly after removing the cap? I had no leak before the removal of the cap. maybe i should have left it alone. haha.

thanks.

Any DC/MD Stella owners around?

I noticed some leaking when I opened mine too, I haven't noticed any problems, but keep an eye on the level of the fluids. Other people know a whole lot more than I do though.
