Although I don't read them, I have a soft spot in my heart for the old newspaper drama strips. But it tells you something about the people who do still read them that this guy is sporting a vintage mohawk to go with his vintage scoot.

A quick spot check shows that they have them going back to some time in 2007 if you want to catch up on the backstory.

That's the key to a successful serial comic strip. Unlike the joke-a-day variety, they have to interweave new subplots with ones that are being resolved, to keep the reader curious about what will happen next. Doing that in three panels a day isn't easy. And especially with printed newspaper strips shrinking so much in the past couple decades, illustrating them so they don't just end up as strips of talking heads, is a challenge.
