Scooter Theme Songs

Post by Howardr »

My new theme song. I'm not a huge country fan, but this really describes my scooter philosophy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auGC5ob6rpA

Are there other good songs that describes your riding philosophy?

sorry, I don't know how to embed, other wise I would.

I <3 this song, and Rodney Atkins.

...thankfully I usually don't have any traffic to and from work at all (except for some school buses here and there).. I don't have any other choice but to take the back roads! :D Love my commute!

Well there is two that pop in my mind whenever I ride. The first is that Monkeys song, "Pleasant Valley Sunday" and "Sleep Walk" by Santo & Johnny. Why? I have no idea...

I don't even think I'd want one, but I sure do like listening to Richard Thompson play 1952 Vincent Black Lightning.

Al DiMeola, "Race With The Devil On the Spanish Highway" -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGWfDkx4zyY

Of course, if I listened to this tune _while_ riding, I'd fly into a ditch at 65 BDUph

This song is pretty much emblematic for any of us Italians that grew up in the 90's :p

@PeteH - great to see another di Meola fan.

@Lokky - Great little tune. Are there any English versions of it?

Don't know how I missed that one but it's good. Actually it looks pretty much like that out here where I live. In fact, there's a one-lane metal bridge across a rocky creek like that not 3 miles from my house!

This is a good thread. I'll have to go through all those other songs, too.

Thanks to my son, I hear plenty of Rascal Flatts.

Think I'll add one:

This is a great question- I have to ponder it some more!

But the first one that comes to mind is Highway To Hell.

I hate to admit this because it's a bit cliché, but I often hear the Specials' "Gangsters" in my head when riding. The bass and rhythm sound like riding often feels to me, true for the sway of a lot of second wave ska IMHO.

Of course, I get a lot of weird stuff from all over stuck in my head when riding. A couple weeks ago, it was ABC's '80s not-quite-hit "Tears Are Not Enough." I went back and listened to it and it sounded better in my memory than reality. :)

One of my favorite songs, but a little too calm and quiet for my riding! :)
I do sometimes get "Wall of Death" in my head when riding. Not sure if that's good!

I've managed to move on since, but for the first few months of owning my Buddy, the tick-tick-tick-tick of the turn signal always prompted my right brain to start playing Depeche Mode's "The Meaning of Love". It's just a little too close in tempo and sound to the song's drum machine line.

Hey Howard,

I should have posted how much I liked that video you posted. I'm not sure if country music is changing or I'm getting a broader taste in music as I age. I've gotten to appreciate Trace Atkins, Toby Keith and a few other country artists.

Imbeding a video isn't hard. Under the video on YouTube you will see a button that says SHARE. Press that and it will give you options. Press the one that says IMBED. Some code will come up. Highlight it, copy it and then paste it in your post. Everything you need will be in that code.

Johnette Napolitano (of Concrete Blonde) - "Ride" from the album "Pretty and Twisted.
"Don't chew your teeth and twist up inside...just ride, baby, ride."
"Ride, baby, ride into the sun and into the sky. Ride, baby...ride."

Iggy Pop's "Highway Song".
"Ain't nothing gonna take this road away, nothing gonna take this road outta my heart."
"Highway I'm doing fine, you help me draw the line. No use in being alive if I'm just renting."

Tried that. The video wasn't there. Just a large blank space.

two songs, actually....well three

Post by Tam Tam »

"Born to be wild" - the 'surf version' by The Untouchables

"The pusherman" - by Steppenwolf

and..."Space Cowboy" by Steve Miller

...and that's Space Cowboy, NOT 'The Joker'. People say ' oh, I luv that song Space Cowboy!!!' and then they begin to warble, "Some people call me the space cowboy, some call me the gangster of love...' that song is THE JOKER!!!! it is not Space cowboy

Speaking of The Blonde and country, every once in a while, riding or not, I won't be able to get this out of my head for the day.

Right now, mine would be "Wish you were here" by Incubus...

I have been riding alone since my bf got his surgery done, and I am missing the fun of the couple of rides we did together beforehand. He doesn't like the cold anyway, but we still have had a couple "warmer" days recently where it would have been nice to go out and ride around for the day. :(

This popped up in my mix the other day...
