[NSR] So it looks like America won't be rid of me after all.

Post by Lokky »

I have just been unofficially informed that I have been accepted to the Chemistry Ph.D. program at VCU.
So it looks like by september I will be starting as a grad student, finally begin getting paid for my work and have a tax-ID to build credit with, so I will be able to finance a second bike!
Most importantly I will not have to leave the country and my amazing girlfriend!

So stoked :D[/code]

Thank you everyone, it was absolutely a great piece of news to receive at this time, putting my mind at ease on something that had me worried for months.

So you are used to the scooter culture from Italy. It would be neat to visit some place where scooters are more common place. :)

Do you get homesick much?

I do get homesick from time to time, but I have been travelling around the world for school quite a bit so I am used to it by now.
As you can guess, scooter culture is one of the big things I really miss (the other is the food!), I never had a proper scooter back home, rather I had a really old Piaggio Ciao that barely ran (I often rode my mountain bike instead because it was both faster and had brakes  ). Lucky for me the city I ended up living in for completely unrelated reasons ended up having some of the coolest people I have ever met, so that helps a lot in fighting the homesickness :D

Haha thanks. It's a bit early for us to talk of marriage really, we have been dating since July of last year :P . I may stay in the states long term, or we may move somewhere else, who knows, a Ph.D. is surely going to be a great tool to work abroad.
