Bulb sizes- definitive guide

Post by chickdr »

After going through the process of changing bulbs and getting quite frustrated when the bulbs I ordered were not correct when the lenses were actually removed - I have put together the correct bulb sizes for anyone else who needs them:

Headlight: H4/HS1 35W/35W PIAA makes an HS1 bulb(GTX) in this wattage
LED's in front cluster: T10 wedge
Front and Rear Turn signals : 921/906
Rear Brake light: 7528/1157

Headlight Bulb fro Blur/Gmax 200

Post by Edward »

Hello from South Africa! Thanks for the info, but I'm not quite sure what you mean - is an H4/HS1 35w/35w the same bulb? Or does it mean that either an H4 or HS1 will fit? Thanks for clarifying...

Either works but the OEM bulb is HS1.

One additional comment- last night I swapped the brake light for an LED version which works perfectly. Nice white glow on the license plate and instant on brake light. Works just as my OEM dual filament bulb did with two intensity levels. Highly recommended. Got the bulbs on EBay for next to nothing. This is what I am using(but they make bulbs with 50 or 60 LEDs that may work even better):

Funny guy. It is tiny, but not idea how it even comes out of the socket...

Thanks for this!

I've been planning to make upgrades on my scooter for a while, and I think I can get the most bang for my money by having the shop do everything at the same time. I had "look up the bulb sizes" on my to do list for a while!

Targets to change:
1 - new headlight
2 - activate the deadlights (so replace the stock with LEDs)
3 - replace horn (stock is *awful*)
4 - install sliders (for +acceleration)

Be careful with adding LED's to the deadlights as I assume you mean get rid of the lollipops and activate the fairings as turn signals(as I did). If you use LED's in the turn signals you will have the hyperblink issue unless you add resistors or a "universal flasher relay". The brake light, however, has no such issue with an LED as I found.

No, I'd keep the eye-stalks active, where I am the visibility helps.

If you turn on the deadlights (with LEDs) as well as leave the eye-stalk lights on, it should be normal, isn't it? I thought that the blink speed only goes crazy if the eye-stalks are completely unplugged (aka, deadlights only).

Not sure about that. I guess with a mix of both it could be ok. I removed my stalks for a cleaner look.
