givi topcases

Post by Susanhaarman »

I just got a Buddy Italia and I'm in love! I also got a givi top case and its been VERY hard to get off and back on the rack - I had to have one of my male roomates come out and lend some brute strength. Is that normal just because its new??

I don't think the case is ment to be removed and replaced. Usually it just gets mounted on the rear rack and left there. Unless you have some sort of special case.

Yes, the "Givi" topcase is meant to take off & on.

Check to see if it is installed to close to the backrack.
I had to reinstall the mounting bracket because there was not enough room for the case to tilt siightly back after pushing the red buttoh in...kinda like being up against wall.

I didn't have to move the mounting bracket forward much.

I attached the case to the mounting bracket, set it on backrack then tried to remove it (may need someone to help hold mounting bracket in place OR attach mounting bracket with a few plastic ties).

In short try taking the case off & on before permanently attaching.

The case does fit tight on to the mounting bracket.
