The most badass scooter chick ever, Ashrat, has passed away.
The scooter world is less cooler tonight.
R.I.P., you amazing woman, you.

I met her at the 2009 Tucson-Nogales Fall Classic. I'm sorry to hear of her passing. I'll see if I have the pic from that ride.

At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Honored to have ridden with her on CBR 2012.
Old Irish Blessing
Remembered Joy
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savoured much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief—
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.
Heaven is getting a whiff of two stroke smoke!

Sad to hear about this.
I'd only met her once, briefly. But so many people I know all over the country knew her, thought of her as a friend and spoke highly of her. That says a lot about a person.

Such sad news to hear! Rest easy Janice, it was great to meet you and share a cross country experience. She's a legend in the vintage scooter community, and will be missed by many. She was the second CBR 2012 rider who passed away from cancer. I wish I could relive that week and get to know all of those amazing people a little more. Prayers of sympathy for her family and her friends.
