MB'ers at Amerivespa 2013

Post by Howardr »

It's only 3 weeks away and I haven't seen any discussion of Amerivespa here on MB.
Who is going to be there? I will be, as will several other folks from our club.

Is there going to be a "Genuine" event? i haven't seen anything about this. From what I heard, the Genuine event at the last Amerivespa was one of the better things to attend.

i am having to decide between my Stella and Iron Buddy to take. I;m about certain that Iron Buddy will be the bike I bring. I hope to see some of y'all there.

I'll be there, although since I'm not taking anytime off work I will only be around for the Sat and Sun events. I still need to register too!

I'll be there but with the Vespa rather than the Buddy. All scoots are welcome. You do not need a Vespa.

I'll be there! I've been occupied with planning our trip down. Our group currently has about 60 slated to go, but I think it'll be closer to 40 on the ride and maybe 50 total in attendance. We shall see…

A lot of MBers are involved with the planning and execution of the rally this year! You'll see some leading or helping out with rides.

Maybe we can do a MB meet Thursday night at the Motorsport party.

I'll be riding my Vespa. Ride the Stella to SD a couple months ago, but need the faster scoot to help with our ride and for other shenanigans and riding.

From jijifer who's one of those MBers helping with organizing and leading a ride:
jijifer wrote:help us put on the best rides possible by RSVPing for the rides you think you'll attend. This will help us alert the lunch stops to how many people to expect, how many helpers we will need along the ride and just generally plan better (like a gas stop for 30 will be different than one for 150)

you won't be committed to the ride, just helps us planning.

thanks!

I'm headed out, if i can get my Stella top end rebuilt this weekend. I think i have enough time to Build it on Friday, break it in on Saturday, and then head cross crountry on Sunday, right?

PS. Moses, Next year is supposed to be in New Orleans. Much closer to you i believe.

I posted the same question on Genuine's Facebook page. They said that the Genuine Love Bus will be there. However, it doesn't look like there will be and "events" done by/for Genuine.

Oh well. i was hoping. I will definitely stop by their booth though.

Turns out I will not be going this year. Health issues have precluded me from being able to reserve a room with confidence for the date and the ride may be a bit much for me these days.

turns out we won't be there either, as our RV ride is not prepared.

As a side note and shameless plug I still have a leftover registration I could transfer. $50 for you late bloomers! After this week though I don't think they can change the shirt size.

I'll be there but riding my GTS rather than the Buddy this year. Do come and say hello if you are there! (Titanium grey GTS 300, white Shoei helmet, black Vanson mesh jacket, goofy smile... heck ya can't miss me! :P ). I'll be helping out on the Elves rides too if you're going on that one.

Finally officially in! Will likely be on the Helix (which is red and massive ) for the most part, then maybe the bud for the urban rides. Yes, it's ironic I probably won't take the Vespa to any events /rides. but I'm letting my heart decide who gets to play. :P

Lake Geneva was a lot of fun last year.

I was just checking Instagram & Twitter for pics under #Amerivespa - some pics are already up & making me wish I was there.

For those of you going.... please post up pics & tag them so we can all follow along long distance - thanks

Howard I hope to meet you and other MB'ers . It was awesome to see ericalm, jijifer, and skootz k again tonight.

I'm working tomorrow, will be riding Saturday, and may be on a Friday night ride if I'm not completely toasted from working tomorrow in the field.

The opening event was great. Who knew a scooter rally would have wine, microbrews, cheese and terrific scooter art :) . It was pretty cool to be in a room where everyone loves scooters! The turnout is heavy vespa. No Helix's, although I met an elite rider, which is close enough. Props to all the local volunteers who are making a great rally, including our very own Jijifer!

I've got to see Eric and jijifer. I did see a Helix go by the opener, but it was white. Hopefully I'll see you at the Gymkhana today.

It was a great ride and you guys did a phenomenal job! The pharaohs plus our MB LA guest blockers Justin and Eric we're blocking like I have never seen blocking at a rally. Poetry in motion :) . Also met more MB members, Johnkingston from AZ and David of riverside county with the kick arse bar end mirrors! (he can't remember his screen name so how can I?)

This was my first Amerivespa and I had an amazing time. The SD clubs know how to put on a great rally. I'm glad I got a chance to meet some of you who went. I took pics, but I wasn't so good about remembering everyone's names! Please post back if you know who any of the unidentified MBers are!

First up is a pic with me and everyone's #1 Buddy, Eric.

This is Dixie, who Co-organizes Phoenix Scooter Club with her Seafoam buddy. She had a crazy story about how her AC went out in the truck and then something about her brakes going out. She was all smiles when I met her. I don't think she's on MB, but she did get a MB sticker, so we'll see.

If you were at Amerivespa, I probably have a pic of your buddy! Describe it and I'll try to find it and post it.
