Did I imagine it? (mystery facebook post)

Post by ravenlore »

Yesterday between 3 and 4 pm CDT i saw and commented on a Facebook post by Scooterworks. (I'm pretty sure it was Scooterworks and not Genuine) The post was about the Star/Stella automatic.

Now I can't find that post in my timeline. i was not the only person to like/comment on the post.

Anyone remember seeing that post?

I hate it when that happens. Recently, somebody double posted here and I answered in both threads (after forgetting that I'd answered already in the first). Then I got so totally confused that I really thought I'd lost my mind. I've about concluded that posting on the run on a phone somehow makes it easier to forget exactly what I posted and when, but, in my case, that's just an excuse for being forgetful.

it was there, It was a link to a story on another site, but I can't remember which. So even if the SW link is gone, the story's probably still out there. If only someone had a scooter blog and posted about it.

The only information: It’s a four stroke 125cc with a claimed 45km/1 Liter fuel economy—the equivalent of approximately 112 miles per gallon. More information will likely be available next month at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan.
125 cc metal body auto? Meh.
While 112 mpg is great, many would prefer to see this as a 200 cc or higher.

Remember that the 125cc engine is a configuration targeted for licensing rules in various European markets. Another way of saying that it is unlikely to be intended for the US market.

I also saw it on the Scooterworks FB site. There is a review of it in the Twist and Go Magazine. They gave it a good rating

Between losing the gearchange, losing the clutch, losing the foot brake and losing the spare tire, I'm having an increasingly hard time thinking of this bike as a Stella.

I'm just gonna start calling it the Full Metal Buddy.
At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Seriously...I've lost count...

Seven mopeds ...that's still manageable...

Agreed, count me as one of the "many".

Why would I want to purchase an even more underpowered Stella and lose the shifty? Would definitely be interested in a 200 with the gears please.
