What happens if you overfill with too much oil?
I accidentally overfilled, and ran it like that for about 100 miles, till I started smelling burnt oil. Will it ruin gaskets?
Thanks for any advice.

In the context of a Buddy 125 or similar GY6 scooter engine . . just lean the scooter over on right side and let the excess oil drain out the dipstick port into a pan.JNV wrote:What happens if you overfill with too much oil?

I did the same thing on the first oil change for my 170i. After about 10 miles the engine light came on and the motor slowed down but kept running til I reached a friends place 5 miles further down the road. Used a large hypo to pull the excess oil out til I had a good reading on the dip stick. Ran home just fine but I did another oil change immediately. No problems since then.
