Better Handling Ideas!!!

Post by toot »

HI, I have a stock 4t. I enjoy this scoot alot, but I was wondering if any of you did anything to make it handle better?? I Know this is OLE SKOOL, but??
I have an issue of twitchyness at high speeds. Low speeds ok but not great, maybe that is the point of this scooter?
Right now my tires are at 17 front and 33 back
Will a new front shock help or should I play with the tire pressure?
When I had it at 30 front I hated it
Did anyone add a new front shock??
Tires only have 450 miles on them
Hey thanks alot all of you are great!!

Go to 22-25psi on the front, it'll ride a little rougher but will hand substantially better. Ditch the stock rock hard Indian tires. You can also replace the swing arm and rear shock buffers with Clause Studio's urethane versions which will reduce slop in the rear suspension.

SIP tubeless rims and a sport tire. It was like a whole new machine.

Got a link for those? That sounds like just what I need.

You need to ask for a P125/150 set with a 10mm rear shock bolt and two of the smaller swing arm buffer instead of one big and one small.

For tubless rims, I'd go with the Pinasco tubeless split rims. Much easier to install tires than a solid rim.

I have the SIP rims and like them as well. I went with the 2.5-10 over the 2.1. It allows you to run a larger 100/90-10 tire and works much better. After that, suspension if you have the cash. Makes it a "new" bike.
Speed is only a matter of money...How fast do you want to go?

I feel ya man. I was on a bridge the other day cruising at 60 on a very warm day above some water. The water temp was very cold causing very strange cold wind gusts. I thought I was going down. I think that was the whitest my knuckles have ever been.

I get mine up to 60 (Speedo) all the time. With the SIP rims and Vee tires, it's smooth as silk.

Nope seems to break 60 pretty easy. Might have something to do living at sea level, but have no idea. I also find it strange that a year ago the specs of the stella 4T on Genuines webpage said 60+ for top speed now it says 50+.
