Scooter Cover - stolen. An idea

Post by DanAW »

The Nelson-Riggs cover was stolen off of my Buddy 50 the other day (Penn station, Baltimore). I figured someone was going to resell it for drug money. Whatev.

Does anyone know of a scooter cover that comes with a hole so I can run my scooter lock thru it when I lock it to a post? Someone can still steal it but not as easy. I can make my own hole, but prefer one that's stiched so it won't run.

Thoughts?

Thanks

If you can't find one like you describe, you can make your own holes and use a grommet around it so it doesn't tear. You can probably buy the grommets at a camping or a hardware store. I think they just press in from both sides.

Yes, they do. The usual use is to tie a cord underneath the bike so the cover can not blow off, but a cable lock could be used.

I've had this one:http://www.bigbikeparts.com/templates/p ... pGuid=2020 for nearly 6 years. My scoot isn't parked outside a lot but when it is this protects it just fine. And, it does have the grommeted holes. Folds up nice and small, plus at a good price for the blue or sand color! I have a milk crate on the back which is why I got the medium size. I don't know if the "small scooter" size they carry might be a better choice for your 50??!! http://www.bigbikeparts.com/templates/p ... pGuid=2020

I use a Champion cover with cable holes at the bottom. I also spray paint pink and yellow dots all over it to keep the hoodlums from stealing it.
