Black Cat question

Post by flowermama »

Hey guys, new to the forums and have a question. I have a Genuine Black Cat that was in the shop about 6 weeks ago after my lovely husband stripped the screw in the break fluid refill. I noticed when I got it back, that the engine seemed to be running high. Wasn't too worried about it but since then it's been acting weird.

I had no trouble with compression beforehand but now it loses compression when it's hot. Thought it was vapor lock at first since it was summertime but now it's cooler and it's still doing it. Friday it died while I was riding, right after it lost compression again (a couple minutes later) but it started right back up. Any ideas what the issue is? Can I still ride it without worry or should I call the shop? I seriously don't want to blow the engine... She's been a great bike and has over 150K on the engine!

 I know right! For a scooter, she's been amazing. I've put an average of 40 miles a day on her, year round for 9 years. She's only been in one accident and is more pampered than my dog lol. Here's a pic of her and my hubby.

May be long over due for a top end rebuild.

Are you sure it has 150k... That's un-heard of. Seriously genuine needs to know about your story. I'd love to see a picture of the odometer!
