It really does look nice, and the price should be pretty darn reasonable too

To me, the CB300R looks much better than the CB500F, with that transformer headlight.

Do you think either of these has the capacity to stitch heavy leather?
... saw a nice Gustin jacket the other day that I would probably have to have tailored to fit properly.

Oh! My mistake. I thought these were both sewing machines.

No mistake. It is DOHC, water cooled precision sewing machine vs Chinese clone of a 30 year old design once made by that same sewing machine manufacturer. And probably around the same price.

I've been watching the CB300 awhile & really like that new one. Upgrades to suspension, huge weight loss & restyled. Intake path is now a little straighter but I believe peak power is the same. Youtube shows it tops out around 100 mph so freeways rides are no problem. Getting tired of fighting my long & top heavy motorcycle out of the garage & around the cars. Dropped it last time.

The page for the Genuine G400C has been taken down!

http://www.genuinescooters.com/g400c.html

I assume that means that a slew of new pages for the different models of the G400C are forthcoming. Yay!

Just looked for fun...there is a URL, genuinemotorcyles.com, which currently points to the scooter site. Maybe they'll stand the G400 family up over there?
At what point does a hobby become an addiction? I'm uncertain, but after the twelfth scooter, it sorta feels like the latter...

Here's a reference to a new 400cc USA motorcycle

Naked Kawasaki Ninja 400 Certified By CARB

It looks like somebody somewhere is actually getting paid to do that CARB-Watch thing I used to do here. Paid?!? Dang! What a concept. LOL!

So it looks like we're going to get a 400cc Ninja-based naked motorcycle in the USA. Don't expect the styling to be retro in any way, form or fashion. When Kawa did the same thing with their 650 Ninja, it ended up looking like this. So expect a whole lot more of the same.

The current Ninja 400 sportbike MSRP is under 5grand without abs.
That is a tough deal to beat.

Good point. And in the case of the 650, the price differential between the Ninja version of the bike and the Z version is about $400, so I'm guessing that the 400 will be very similar, making the Z400 a stone bargain in the way of a 400cc bike.

Just checked it again, now it says "Coming November 2018"

There are definitely a few other bikes in this thread that fit the bill for me, but none really have that classic style (while being reasonably priced)

Agreed. The only remaining decision factor for me will be whether Royal Enfield get their new 650 twin into the USA market quickly.

The biggest giveaway is that when you hover your mouse pointer over each photo it tells you what it is...

But, I assumed the bottom was Honda because of the more substantial front hub and rim plus the stainless steel exhaust header.

yea the honda has certain parts that are styled to look older but they both look like modern nakeds to me...there are quite a few retro styled bikes coming out though...not sure how many to the US though...royal enfield, moto guzzi and triumph are pretty good at it...i feel like if you can design/build a light, good quality, reliable, quick, nimble, 250-500cc bike that can maintain highway speeds then you could sell a lot of units...all of the major companies are building bikes in this engine size range so there must be a demand for them...more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow

On their FB page, Genuine emphatically make the statement that the G400C will be in their warehouse by 10/31/2018.

You notice I said 10/31/2018 instead of Halloween?" That's because I knew some wiseacre would ask, " Which Halloween?"

Been eyeballing the Vitpilen 401 lately. It's effectively a Duke 390 that was drug backwards through an IKEA. It's distinctive and decidedly costlier than a Duke, but they are built in Austria unlike the Duke, which is built by Bajaj in India.

Checked it out at the local dealer. Liked most of it, but the cafe bars are non-adjustable. There are accessories coming, so maybe adjustable bar sweep/droop will be an option. Currently, the setup feels like flat-track bars and could be taxing for the wrists of shorter riders. The Svartpilen 401 is more ergonomically friendly, but I'm not sold on the pseudo-scrambler thing it has going on or the blackout colorway.

Dealer financing was laughable, but they keep calling. I told them I needed to send some bikes along and that I'd put more cash down if the interest rates were going to be that insulting. I don't need another bike that badly.

I'm still holding a shred of hope that Honda will deliver on the Bulldog; if Genuine can finally deliver the G400C, then miracles can happen.

I think the Vitpilen 401 will be a good seller. The 701 costs too much at 12 grand or so.

Both, maybe? Since the 150 is a carb and the 300 is FI? It'll be interesting to see what the motorcycing press say about this $4999 machine.
