I didn't even know the Malagutis were sold in the US. Their vintage scoots are beautiful, but they have some pretty kick ass modern ones, too.

they came to the states in the late 90s, but after 9/11 they had probs with shipping and finally just left the market. they werent big sellers due to their premium price tag and no one knew who they were.
mine has been a great bike, i had 3 Vespas when i got it and they began to collect dust due to me riding the Malaguti so much- i eventually just sold them off.
this derestricted 50cc will do 50-55mph.

the only things done to it is the restrictor removed from the variator, pipe'd and carb rejetted. (i did replace the stock reeds with Malossi)Anonymous wrote:I have the same model, and I had 70cc kit, but i dont like that i have to to choke every time I start the bike. How to you derestrict with 50cc on it? any change ont he carb? My bike start slow and kick in the speed after 25mph. Can you tell me what you have on yours with derestricted spec? Thanks!
i dont have any lag on take off, it gets to 40 pretty quickly then climbs slower up to 50 or so.
mine does have a manual choke too, even though the carb is the same size as stock. it was like this when i bought it so i dont know the story behind it (the dealership had no clue either when i asked at the time of purchase).
