Value of Lambretta

Post by BigDaddy SnakeOiler »

Anyone know what this might be worth? A friend who collects cars and such is looking into scooters.

No idea how much it is worth; however, I would also ask for assistance with your inquiry on Modern Vespa. They have a lot of smart folks over there also (many of which are on this forum also) and it might help to spread your net far and wide to get the best answer.

I second this. Jon is awesome.

Also, the KBB might not show it's true value, as many collectors are willing to spend quite a bit. However, there's a lot of fakes and shoddy rebuilds (bodges) out there.

They are rare enough now that a lot of people know the more beautiful ones, so you might get some history.

Looks like a bodge to me. My eyes were immediately drawn to the yellow rubbers on the center stand as that's usually a big red flag. Seems to me that it exhibits a few of the characteristics detailed in the following link.

http://www.scootcleveland.com/viewtopic.php?p=11883

0 miles on the odo, no ownership history, etc. And the ad says there's a title but it's being sold with an acquisition bill of sale, which, from what I can find, is used when there's no title available (jump in and set me straight if I'm wrong here).

I'll bet 5 bucks that this was brought in as a cheapie resto with the intent of flipping it for a fast buck.

Yep, that's a VietBodge. His money is better spent in a trash can fire.

It totally looks iffy. Unless you really know what to look for, I'd pass on this one. especially if you can't see it in person to check it out.

That is good advice. Use the NSM (Not so Modern) Forum at Modern Vespa. This one also looks like a probable bodge to me, and I would be very cautious.
