Buddy eclipse
I just got an email from Genuine about something called a Buddy Eclipse. Anyone have any ideas what this is? Will it be Kick based, or Buddy based?

Genuine will usually roll out a "special edition" once a year or so. That's what the Eclipse is. Will more than likely have the standard upgrades (sporty mirrors/grips, adjustable shock, upgraded from disk brake, maybe a lowered seat, etc.). From what I've heard it'll be matte black (but don't quote me on that-I haven't actually seen a picture yet!).

So if we assume that the picture is correct/accurate, it looks like and upgraded rear shock. Up from a standard 50 cc caliper with a somewhat upgraded disc. Maybe it will be both 50 and 125 versions, but it doesn't appear to be a 150cc or 170cc kind of upgrade. Visually, it's got a blackout kit. The basis for the model name?

When I picked up a slightly used Blackjack for my wife, we couldn't wait to get rid of the seat and put on the seat from a regular Buddy, not to mention that god-awful noisy Prima pipe. Somewhere in greater Detroit there's a guy who's riding a 2009 baby blue Buddy 125 with a Blackjack seat and a stupid noisy exhaust. But he's young, so he thought it was cool.scootERIK wrote:Why do they keep putting the low profile seat on all the special editions? Do only short people buy the special editions?
Some people are like slinkies. They're not very interesting, but they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
