Stella Auto Sidestand

Been a while since I've been on here but sad to see the news of all the Stella problems & discontinuing. My wife's 2014 Stella Auto has been reliable and she loves it....but she has never been able to get it up on the center stand by herself as she just can't lift it. My Vespa LX150 is about 1/2 as hard. Scooterworks put together a Stella Auto specific sidestand to address this problem. The non Auto stands will not fit. Though the first production had to be revised & no instructions are available for the new model...I gave it a try with some helpful photos from the Scooterworks crew to guide me on placement.
The whole job only took 15 minutes...and it turned out well...She can finally go alone on her Stella without me! I thought I'd include a couple of pix of the mounting and the finished look to help those with similar issues. If you do get one all you need is a #10 wrench/deep socket and a 15/64 metal drill bit. Position the stand as shown. Mark the holes using the stand as template and drill from bottom & then fasten.

Good job!! And nicely explained .
Make sure it doesnt fast idle when cold, it may try to take off on her.
I cant believe the amount of rust on the bottom of her bike.
Does this bike live outside? Garaged?
Man.. thats alot if rust imho.

Thanks...yeah that is a lot of rust ...it is under a roof and cover but not in a sealed garage. We live on the ocean so lots of salt in the atmosphere may account for the high rust....and we've carried it on a rack on the back of the RV around 15000 miles...BUT....my Vespa bought at the same time and kept in the same places has less than half that rust.
She loves her Stella so will keep it going as long as possible...maybe a Buddy Kick in her long term future. In the meantime...we've got the new tubeless rims & whitewalls on the way from Scooterworks so will post some pix of how that turns out in the next couple of weeks.

Id be a bit concerned about her headlight being partially covered by that basket.
I vote for removal or chopping it down 3-4 inches.
Good looking pair of bikes, though.

Stella Auto ...Sidestand & Tubeless Whitewalls

I mentioned last time here that I'd be adding tubeless whitewalls and rims on my wife's Stella Auto. Here's a picture of what that looks like. (That is Quebec City across the St. Lawrence River...an you can take your scoot over on the ferry for 7 bucks and it is a great place to use one...in the summer! )

The main thing is that while she wanted the whitewalls for the look...it turns out that going tubeless is a MAJOR handling/performance benefit on the Stella Auto. I was amazed that the squishiness of the steering compared to my Vespa was much reduced and my wife now feels comfortable cruising over 40mph 'cause the wobble is gone.

Whether or not you like the look of whitewalls...tubeless is the way to go.

In the issue of her basket covering part of the light...true enough for most situations...but she will not ever ride after dark! Prefers the size for groceries!

Did those Prima rims fit? I ordered a pair when they first came out and I had to file them every which way and you still have to hammer them on and off.
