Mounting brackets for wooden crate?

Post by murrellington »

I bought a $400 leather roll bag and it got stolen within a week. Now I decided to go with a wooden crate that is less desirable. I'm going to drill holes in the bottom and use brackets to mount to the rack. Anyone have suggestions on the type of brackets to use? Links of where to buy? I'm sure home Depot would have something but I'm not sure what to ask for. Amazon would be best so I don't have to go anywhere. Thanks in advance.

I presume you are talking about mounting it on a rear luggage rack. All you need to do is use a couple pieces of metal bar or channel bolted thru the bottom of the box. Use security fasteners if you are worried about the box being stolen.

Simple solution for me when I mounted a basket on mine several years ago. Metal 'mending' plates from the hardware section... http://www.modernbuddy.com/forum/viewto ... ght=basket
