170i distance capability?

Post by andrewstephengolds »

Hello all,

This is my first post on this forum. I have a 2017 hooligan 170i. Just over 6,000 miles on the clock.

I currently drive the scoot 8-9ish miles each way for work, or about 20 miles a day. One of my relatives live about 60 miles away, for a 120 mile round trip. Would the 170i be up to the task? I would be taking majority 50-55 mph roads around here

The bike would be fine. Try to vary your speeds a bit though, never good to run a small engine at a steady high rpm for an extended time.

My Buddy 170i would be extremely happy making that kind of trip.
Mine has 13.5K miles and runs like new.

A guy on the Facebook page "Buddy Scooter Owners" just did a 450 mile ride in 12 hours. That's a 37.5 mph average but includes stops for gas & probably food. From the pic it looks like a 125 or 170i, not sure. Wondering if he's a member here.

Modern Buddy's own Howardr rode an Ironbutt on his Buddy. I think your Hooli will do ok.
