2020 EPA Certified Motorcycle List

Post by jrsjr »

Here is the January 2020 list of EPA certified road motorcycles. This is my edit of the database in which I have deleted many columns of highly technical pollution detail and left only the detail of interest to most folks here. Also, if you visit the EPA page and peruse the original database, you will discover that their list is much longer than my list because of many duplicate records which don't differ at all in my downsized version of the list. In one case, a particular Harley-Davidson model had thirteen records! In almost all cases, I got rid of all the duplicates. The exception was in the case of Ducati and Harley where the very same bike was listed with everything else being the same except there were two countries of manufacture. I thought that was worthy of note (and probably some heated discussion) so I left those in.

To bring this back to scootering - Genuine has the usual suspects in the database. No surprises there. One thing I did notice was the data for the Kymco Like 150i lists the horsepower at 10.2kw compared to 7.1kw for the Buddy 125. That's 44% more horsepower! That must be a kicky little scooter. I'll be angling for a test-ride on one of those in the future.

Enjoy perusing the database. I tried very hard to be diligent, but I did do the entire edit by hand so it's possible I may have erred. If you have any thoughts or if you discover any errors or omissions, please let me know.

If I am reading it right Genuine is importing the Royal Alloy/Grand Tourer 150 under the Chicago Scooter Company, LLC name?

 Good Catch, scootERIK! I didn't notice that at all. There's always something interesting hidden in these databases and I think you win the prize for finding the biggie in this edition. Dang!

Every year I think that Genuine will eventually drop the 2 strokes because of tightening EPA regulations, but they always pop back up. Still kinda want a RH50 to replace my old Zuma one day.
