My wonderful significant other keeps freaking out I got a scooter. She keeps thinking my 2 wheel riding days should be over now that I have a family. She keeps thinking that scooterists are just a bunch of young guys/gals still in school.
I really don't know, but in reading posts, I think there is a large amount of people like me (parents, little kids, mortgage, etc).
So I figure a poll might help show my beautiful wife (obviously she will be reading this so piling up honest, nice comments are a must) I am a completely normal individual and not one on a mid-life crisis with a dead wish!

I'd say go with what your inner voice says you' would have been in another life. No, not that voice that tells you to get naked in the middle of Home Depot, the OTHER voice !
I answered married, kids and mortgage, but all 11 of our " kids" have 4 feet and fur. I have no intention of actually giving birth.
I'm the proud mom of an English Bulldog, a St bernard/beagle/spaniel mix, 8 cats and a ferret.

Although 11?? 4 furry kids are enough for us! Also glad to see I'm not the only one who has given up on trying to keep the fur off our clothes. Now I just buy coats that come in the same color as our furriest dog. Heck, I pick couches and rugs to complement or blend with all the fur!
And I don't think hubby would appreciate being called a wife either.
Although, technically I could have picked the first option. I've gone back to school. Education is good for the brain!
Anyway, to answer your question I'm too young for a midlife crisis and too old to be a footloose and fancy-free.
My wife and I are mid-century classics, we are both about 50 years old. Originally we purchased our Buddy 125 for RVing. I did not want to hassle with towing a car behind our RV so carrying a small scooter on the RV’s trailer hitch appeared to be a good alternative. The Buddy 125 is perfect for this, it is light enough to carry on our RV’s trailer hitch and yet powerful enough to carry both of us into town when we are camping.
We quickly discovered that we both enjoyed driving the Buddy even when we were not camping. Unfortunately with 2 of us trying to share 1 Buddy there has been some concerns that one of us is hogging the Buddy (In my defense I have not been hogging it. I only ride it from 7 AM until 7 PM and she has access to it for the remaining 12 hours). To mitigate these concerns we purchased a second Buddy 125 and now when we ride together we look like the noodles in an antipasto salad (green and orange).

My wife tried to convince me that my two wheel days should be over. I solved that problem by teaching her to ride. Now are fights are over who gets to get the next scooter. One of our cars is for sale to make room.

Thats cool. Back when Sears was everything. I was in a house in farmingdale, ny that was supposed to have been a mail order delivered in sections to its location and assembled on the site. It was only a couple of blocks from the rail road. Might be a tale.

I can not figure out how to mark an option in the pole. I am 68 with wife and dog, grandkids fron 21 yrs to 4 mos. was in the marines but missed the wars. CANNOT GET THE WIFE TO GET ANYWHERE NEAR THE SCOOTER.
i went with the empty nester catagory. no kids, no legal husband. not a student but have some. turned 49 last week. somebody told me that aarp is keeping a close eye on me.
I'm 27, my fiancee is 21. she is finishing up school I am an insurance agent. WE got our scooter to save $$$ on gas since we both drive trucks! I put still in school, even though I finished up 6 yrs ago!

Those "kit homes" were all the rage, in certain neighborhoods...so I doubt that it's a tale. I've heard about them before, 'cause I'm 49.

There was an age poll on ModernVespa and the results were kind of interesting. Among respondents, the median was probably over 40. I suspect it may be a little younger here.
I'm 38, married, no kids. Like many late Gen Xers and Angelenos of all ages, I am somewhat of a perpetual 20-something when it comes to my tastes and consumption of media and pop culture and am delaying most trappings of "adulthood" as defined by my parents' generation. Don't have to. Don't want to. Having too much fun.

how about a still in school, can barely wait to finish and get knocked up option? We might have decided to get married by then. while i told everyone my reasoning to get a buddy was gas milage.. the truth is i needed that perfect color of orange.

Cant wait to get a scooter- to save gas on the way to school, and work (Petsmart). AND getting a scooter might actually lead to getting a social life- Scooter World- Here I come! PS- ANyone want some goldfish? (Wish I could say these ones were mine- Mine are not quite as fancy- but I do have these breeds)

I've got a Jaguar XK8 and a Ford Ranger and they're both at 15-18 MPG. My husband used to ride rice rockets, and now that we're slightly older, we aren't completely opposed to the idea of scooters. He's getting one pretty soon, now that I just (today) got my be-autiful St. Tropez. gotta love that 80+ mpg.
