I use a hitch mounted carrier on the back of my Jeep Liberty all the time. I'm a 5'5 gal that I would not consider strong by any means. The scoot leans against me just fine upright while I strap it down with a canyon dancer and other tie downs for added safety. Lay out the straps ahead of time and you're good to go.....

Long distances in the snow I have bought plastic wrap from Home Depot, etc and my scooter travel three states without a spec of dirt/mud/snow on it!

The hardest part for me is getting the rack on the Jeep in the first place....it's heavy but I def can do it without assistance.
