It is plastic isn't it?

so anyone remember this parts estimate posted a while back:
Windshield(front body panel):................... 28.99
Front Lower Cover:.................................. 49.95
Left Side Cover:...................................... 21.95
Right Side Cover:.................................... 21.95
Left Side Body Cover:..............................36.95
Right Side Body Cover:............................36.95
Rear Cover:.............................................27.95
Front Section Front Fender:......................39.95
Upper Section Inner Cover:........................12.95
Lower Section Inner Cover:........................12.95
VIN Cover:...............................................0.98
Front Panel Inner Cover:............................5.00
Stepfloor:.................................................7.00
Body Cover Left Front:...............................9.95
Body Cover Right Front:.............................9.95
Front Fender RR Section:...........................5.00
Rear Fender:.............................................9.95
Floor Mat:.................................................7.19
Middle Cover:............................................8.95
Seat:........................................................79.95
Hand Grips...............................................16.00

Sounds great right? Yeah that's what I thought. Well on the move here a very very small part between the tail light and license plate was cracked on one of our Buddys. Turns out that this particular part, which is the smallest of all the panels, will cost us $25?! I'm pretty sure the above estimates aren't exactly correct but I was really thinking (along with the local scooter shop) that this piece would only be about $5... I mean it is plastic isn't it? $25 isn't exactly sending me to the poor house but wow it's such a small and non essential part. That price just doesn't seem to make much sense when compared to how cheap the much larger parts are.

ok, rant done.
