Either way, I must agree. The yellow Vespa in The Transformer was nice too.

Quadrophenia is pretty lame by any standard, other than "quantity of scooters," which is enough to get me to watch it over and over.

"Kamikaze Girls" is a fun movie with a lot of souped up 90s honda twist-and-gos in it.

I'm with Lou on that one, the whole movie is like a contest to see how many bass notes John Entwhistle can play. I guess there's arguably some great music in there, but it's Booker T and the Ronettes and the old Ready Steady Go clips of the Who, and certainly not "Bellboy."DouglasLive wrote:You're kidding, right? Oh well -- to each his own.lou76 wrote:an alright movie, but the music is terrible... the who past their prime...jrsjr wrote:Quadrophenia, every time.
"5:15" and "The Real Me" aren't bad, but the rest of it is way too noodly/prog and all the songs are twice as long as they need to be. "The Punk and the Godfather" would be ok if it was a third the length and stripped down, production wise.

I guess I'm talking about the Who album (1973), not the Soundtrack (1979). To a lot of Who fans, Pete's music in Quadrophenia is the stuff. I'll give you twenty 'Sally Simpsons' for one 'Bell Boy' any day of the week.illnoise wrote:I'm with Lou on that one...
But again, to each his own.
Oh, and all that Entwistle bass playing? Simply amazing.

We should start a new thread on this, I could argue about the Who vs. Kinks vs. Stones vs. Beatles for weeks! I actually just wrote about 200 words on the subject, then erased it to spare you all having to read it.

Yup, the lead character rode sidesaddle with (I think) a postal worker, it looked like so much fun!ScooterGuyRick wrote:Under the Tuscan Sun? I think there was a scooter. I just remember how fun it looked.

OK, hands down, it's Roman Holiday for me, too. I'm thinkin' about naming mine, a she, Hep or Heppy, BOTH because of Audrey AND Kate. Mostly for Kate.
Another movie whose scooter caught my eye was the remake of "Alfie," with the ubiquitous Jude Law. The movie was rather forgettable (the original all the way!!!), but the scooter he rides is rather sweet.
