Things I Love About My Buddy

Post by hermitgirl »

( and Scootering in general)

- That special smile people get when they look at the Buddy. You know the one- you're in the middle of parking, and they glance over and get that little kid grin on their face.

- Passing other scooter folk: a quick wave or a nod, or even a beep, and I feel like I'm part of the coolest club ever. When do we get member jackets?

- Having that perfect timing at a red light to not have to put your feet down before it flicks green.

- Putting your feet down. ;)

Feel free to add to the list!

- When you get going fast enough that you can't hear the engine and it feels like you're flying.

I use mine for work. I love zipping away from appointments. especially with people in suits: I have awesome "see ya suckas " moments watching people disappear in my mirror and taking the scenic route back to the office.

pulling up to the sidewalk cafe and striding in w/o parking woes

having another wonderful thing to share with my mate

not having to answer the cell phone

freedom

Beating people to the next red light after they've been having a chuckle at your expense.

Seeing kids stare as if "Wow that's cool and I think I could ride it!"

Zipping through downtown traffic and cutting a good 3 minutes off my commute.

Cornering!

Did I mention amazing people with the speed you can get on that small scoot?
You don't wanna get mixed up with a guy like me. I'm a loner Dottie, a REBEL.

Almost forgot:

- the cool turbine-like whine the tranny makes when you lift off the throttle at speed (though it does tend to make my speed a bit erratic as I listen to the "music"!)

Having one more fun thing I can share with Sammy, my especial lady 8)

I am more 'in the moment' on the Buddy than in my car.
I can see so much more!
Closer parking at work.
It gives me something to look forward to after a long day at work. :)

- Having a Ford F-250 whip into the gas station behind you just so the Harley Owning, Harley T-Shirt wearing driver can jump out to ask you how fast it'll go, how much at cost, and then relate that the 700lb Harley Sportster he gave his wife is just too much bike for her, and that scooter would be perfect for her...

Pulling into a gas station next to a Hummer and filling up for under $5. I love when the Hummer driver peeks at my side of the pump as I ride off.

When little kids point to my Buddy and say to their parents, "I want one of those, it's cool!".

The feeling of freedom when cruising and pimping it out. I'm done with that now.

The feeling of freedom as the wind blows through my helmet
something to look forward to during a crappy day of work
the smiles and the looks I get while zipping past everyone
the amazing community of scooterists who understand what I am feeling

Seeing the smiles from people you drive buy. We're just not a threat to anyone. Kids love them and teenagers seem to think your so cool and younger than you actually are.
