Schwinn and Vento Scooters' Question

Post by runtotorun121 »

Okay, my husband wants to know which countries makes the Schwinn and Vento scooters.

Who knows the answer to this?

I checked Schwinn's website and a couple of the owners manuals says "Made in China".

Here's the link:

Hmm. Thank you. I looked at the Schwinn website but didn't think to look at a manual. I skimmed it but didn't see where it said the scooter was made, but if you saw China I believe you! :)

The only assembly they do in the vento factory is inserting the front tire and handle bar grips.

Schwinn went bankrupt in the '90s and Chinese companies bought the trademark. That's why you can now buy a $90 Schwinn bike at Wal-Mart (sorry, with the new logo I guess now it's Walmart *). Schwinn scoots are made in China.

Despite what others might say, not all stuff from mainland China is crap. I was very happy with my Tank 150 scooter, keeping in mind that I didn't expect much from a $1,500 scooter. Motor was solid and it did the job just fine. I had a dealer that would fix anything that went wrong (nothing did). I did buy it as a means to an end, which is why I now own a Blur.

One man's opinion.
