Top case woes... resolved?

Post by ericalm »

Scenic City Scooters in Chattanooga, TN posted on the Buddy Yahoo! group that Genuine is responding to the widespread complaints about the Buddy top cases by offering an improved model. Scenic City is even offering free exchanges of the old cases for the new! Any other dealers want to match that offer?
We, along with a number of other dealers, have discussed the issue of
the Buddy top cases not being up to the quality standards we have come
to expect from Genuine. They were very exacting on making the sure the
color matches were right on...and they are... but I would agree that
the top case itself is less than good.
Genuine has heard the complaints and have a much improved top case
available which is P/N TPCS4 that was being marketed for the Blurr and
the Black Cat but it does fit the Buddy as well. They are a little
bigger and much better quality. They cost $5.00 more...a small price to
pay....but they are only available right now in Black. Genuine is in
the process of getting them color matched to the Buddy scooters but I
am not sure when they will be available. I was very impressed with the
way Genuine recognized and resolved the issue. We as a dealer, are
swapping the new top case for the original top case we sold to our
customers.

Do they look any different? Or is it just the mounting that has changed. i can't seem to find a link on the scenic scooter site.
