I know there's already a thread similar to this called "who are you in real life" but I think this will be a little cleaner. Maybe. Pretty simple, just answer the questions... i.e.

Goals for your scooter(s): To sell the Elite and get the Stella to cruise at 60.
What draws you to scooters: I've been around bikes a good part of my life. Started riding sport bikes and then leaned towards cruisers. I was looking to buy my first bike and remembered a friend of mine in high school had a ETON something or other that was hella fun to ride and was definitely against the "norm" so I got a loan and was choosing between a GSXR750 or 2 Yamaha Vino's, the Vino's won. I've ridden scooters ever since and as time progressed my incurable desire to mess with everything I own got me into modding them and at the same time got me into learning about old Vespa's and Lambertta's. Now I ride 11 months out of the year (even though the "riding" season here is 4 months long) and spend a lot of my free time wrenching on scooters.
What do you dislike about scooters: I, to a certain extent, dislike how trendy they've become. It used to be I knew EVERYONE in my town with a scooter and now I don't know but a small sect. The sad thing is that a lot of the people in town who just picked up their bikes from the Vespa stealership have created an elitist clique. Which is annoying and terribly anti-scoot-ethic.
Explain your screen-name:My friends used to call me "E." A friend of mine got me into gangster rap and as a joke started calling me "Eazy E" like the rapper from NWA. It stuck.
Where do you work: I am an IT consultant for the Department of energy and also own my own scooter performance, restoration, and maintenance shop in Idaho Falls.
Other interests: My little girl Emily who is almost 6 months old and my wife of 3 years Amber. And cars. I race Solo 2 and hope to someday enter into the time-trials and cup racing circuit. We'll see what happens.
Favorite Restaurant: Ming's. It's a little mom n' pop shop in Idaho Falls here. First generation Chinese immigrants make the best Chinese food, odd eh?
Something we may not all know about you: I once aspired to be a professional football player. Sophomore year of high school I stepped in a whole and tore all the ligaments in my left knee during foot ball practice. Once that healed I was side swiped by a drunk driver and ruined the other knee.

What do you dislike about the scooter: Nothing yet.

Explain your screen-name: Say the words 'so tired' with a bahstun accent. I don't have an accent, but it works and it seems that very few people have it. Not like scooterrider14 or billgatesisaweenie or even cheeseisdelightful.

Where do you work: I'm a freelance writer and am currently on a one-year writing sabbatical working on a couple more books and a bunch of other projects.

Other interests: Paris, cheese, beer, my girlfriend, HD TV, snacks, geocaching.

Favorite Restaurant: Right now it's Beni Sushi in Quincy, MA. Quality fish and nice people.

Something we may not all know about you: Cheerleader in college, tried out for MLB in 1992 (obviously not playing), used to race mountain bikes, published author.

What draws you to Scooters: Never thought much about them until I partnered with a friend to open a scoter rental in Colorado. I was hooked the first time I rode them.
What do you dislike about scooters: I'm a big fan of seat belts and it was wierd getting used to not having one while driving. lol
Explain your screen-name: I am a volunteer Peregrine Falcon nest monitor. I love birds of prey. Screwed up and couldn't register Peregrine so it's 7eregrine. (Can this be changed by a mod perhaps?)

Something we may not all know about you: A friend and I started an underground hip-hop magazine many years ago (1993?) that evolved into one of the earliest sites devoted solely to rap music. We gave up on it maybe two years too early ... if we had stuck it out, we probably could have sold it for some $$$ in the dot-com frenzy. We still had some interesting offers, but not enough to part with the history.

Mods: They seem kind of prissy, I can't be bothered to dress nice.
Goals for your scooter(s): To get my old Sprint engine in the 150 (150 engine's dead) and to put some ROC stickers on the Blur.
What draws you to scooters: Hard to say, but I've been drawn to them for 13 years. I'm actually more into the design, history, and idea of them than I am into riding, but I still don't get a chance to ride as much as I'd like. I'm a designer, so the simplicity of the vintage Vespa design was very attractive to me, and I like modern scooters, many are pretty daring, design-wise. The "Retro" stuff doesn't really interest me much, because it only supeficially mimics the classic scooters.
What do you dislike about scooters: I don't like that people don't take them seriously, including scooterists. It's a motorcycle (albeit small) and should always be treated with the same respect, especially by scooterists who want to pretend it's a bicycle when it's convenient. I also think riding in the city is kind of a drag, but that's not really the scooters' fault.
Explain your screen-name:Illnoise just came to me back when I joined AOL in 1991 and you could actually get the name you wanted. It was supposed to be a record label, but that never happened. For the record, I came up with it about 12 years before Sufjan Stevens.
Where do you work: I'm a designer at coudal.com, it's kind of hard to explain what we do, but it's a great job. I also design <i>American Scooterist</a> for the Vespa Club of America, and run 2strokebuzz.com.
Favorite restaurant: I love Indian and Ethiopian food best, but anything that's not in a mall parking lot is cool with me, especially if I've never been there before. Chicago is full of great, cheap hole-in-the-wall places, Thai, mexican, chinese, middle eastern, greek, hot dogs, italian beef… yep, I'm totally obese.
Other interests: My family: My wife Tracie (aka Vina on 2sb) and my 4-year-old daughter Milena. Listening to and collecting music, I'm mostly into mid-90s indie rock like Guided by Voices, Pavement, Sebadoh, Pixies, etc, but a little bit of everything else, too.
Something we may not all know about you: I just co-directed a Breeders video. A lot of it was shot by a cameraman strapped to me, sitting backwards on my Blur. I'll link it up when we're finished editing.

Mods: Blur: De-stickered, windshield, rear rack, saddlebags. Buddy: a "flying goddess" hood ornament on the front fender, windshield, front basket, saddlebags

Goals for your scooter(s): Roller weight swap in both scooters. Perhaps a custom paint job on the Blur. I'd like to put speed clutches in both scooters also. Exhaust swaps and maybe some jetting aren't out of the question either.

What draws you to scooters: The simple virtue of economical style. A scooter is just such a pure form of transportation - such an essential way to get around. The style is unique and mostly unassuming, even in their bright ice cream color palette. I also love that if you choose to participate in it, scooters come with a great culture.

What do you dislike about scooters: Only that there are so many knock-off crappy clones of perfectly good scooters that put people in danger and give the rest of us a bad name. The oblivion of most cagers is annoying, but that isn't really something I can blame on scooters. I suppose I dislike some aspects of a scooter's reputation and people's preconceived notion that scooters are toys, are all slower than traffic, and don't have a right to be on the road. I also don't like this notion that scooters are simply a fad. Maybe there will be a fall off, but I didn't buy my scooter as part of the boom, so I don't care.

Explain your screen-name:It's simply my name. There are lots of places where anonymity is appropriate and necessary online, but when it comes to plugging into a community, I prefer to do it as myself. I use my real name here, as well as in the MINI community(www.motoringfile.com). It keeps me accountable for what I say, but it also means that when I meet people from the forums, I don't have to expect them to remember some random screen name to associate me with.

My profile pic is actually me in my helmet, but the white/blue combo is intentionally Stig.

Where do you work: I craft the company-wide customer experience for Jostens, the premier company for celebrating life's important milestones. If you've got a class ring on your finger, chances are we made it. Chances are your high school and college diplomas came from us also, as well as the cap/gown you wore on graduation day. My specialty is online experience and UI, and my background is in advertising and design.

Other interests: MINIs and anything else mechanical and gear-headed (Topgear!). Gadgets and tech, NPR, Apple, design, art, history, the Discovery Channel, film, literature, online connection like Facebook/twitter/Flickr/MB, and our two dogs (beagle and miniature schnauzer).

Favorite Restaurant: Fireworks Grill in Lincoln, Nebraska. They make my favorite food and brew my favorite beer, all right there in the same building.

Something we may not all know about you: I nearly completed an engineering degree before switching to design - so I've got all this math and science rattling 'round in my head.

Explain your screen-name: Kurzer is slang for Kurtzen which is German for short tempered... my screen name was "Short" for a long time until a German girl started stalking me online :P and the name stuck.

Mods: Passenger cushion, chrome bolts on rear rack and a few other places, bar-end mirrors, windshield, chrome front and rear rack, Prima tan topcase, complicated headlight assembly repair/mod involving molly bolts (long story)

Goals for your scooter(s): Switch to chrome grips and have custom decals made. Eventually have mostly chrome exterior bolts and pick up some formotion stuff

What draws you to scooters: I come from a long line of Harley riders (people who will sell their truck to buy a new Harley) and therefore always wanted a bike. However, I wanted something that would have high fuel economy, and be great for in city commuting and parking around campus, all without breaking the budget. Also, I'm very big into the 50s and 60s (fave movie is Breakfast at Tiffany's) and love the retro/mod look. Not to mention, scooter culture and scooter rallies are awesome.

What do you dislike about scooters: I don't dislike anything about scooters, I dislike the way some people view them.

Explain your screen-name: My favorite band is Aerosmith (Own every album and have seen them 5 times) and...well...I'm a girl. Oh yeah, and my fave number is 7.

Where do you work: Microbiologist at Purdue University...essentially I work with bacteria that eat heavy metals

Something we may not all know about you: Got laid off when they closed that asbestos factory, and wouldn't you know it, the army cuts my disability pension because they said that the plate in my head wasn't big enough. Every time Katherine revved up the microwave Id piss my pants and forget who i was for half an hour or so. Well I am Married to my wife Kath and have two kids and my dog Snotz. Watch out for Snotz hes got a little Mississippi Leg..heh heh if you know what I mean. It's better to let him finish. Let him have a ride and he'll take you all the way to town. I've been out of work for the past seven years. Kath says I should find some temporary work to help pay the bills but I'm holding out for a management position. So with the extra money I bought me a Recreational Vehicle and she is a Beaut... Only problem is the Shitter gets backed up whenever I eat too much of that Mexican food.

What draws you to scooters: I love the energy that goes along with scooters. During our grad school graduation party on a very liberal campus some of my classmates who were not close friends almost passed out when they found out I was not a "native" to the town and actually came from a pretty conservative state. I was tickled pink to learn I was too granola-ish, and since then I have heard I am a flower child lost in time. I also get confused with someone from the the 20s, 40s, 50s, and 60s so go figure. . . :wink: What's a girl to do? My husband was a big garage-bander, who gets played on Sirius, so 50s, 60s, and 70s culture is rampant in our love shack. So go figure. Scooter culture just fits.

In the early 70s when I was little my mom and dad both had motorcycles, and I have always wanted to have my own, but as with cars I am not a fan of clutches and shifting even though I can and will. I am a born flower-admirer who has a need to spend my clutch/shifting brain cells attending to smiling at cute squirrels crossing the road or sniffing lilac and honeysuckle. So when my husband introduced me to a "scooter" - what the heck are those all about??? :? and pressured me into his impulse-buying one day we signed the papers and brought Buddina home. Yep, I love scooter culture! Now if I could just find some of those '70s Beetle Van flowers for Buddina. . .
What do you dislike about scooters: Haven't figured out how our girls (The Rat Terrors) can safely ride with us yet, although Mari loves to zip up in my jacket and take a little scoot down to the end of the block.
Explain your screen-name: Favorite movie since toddlerhood - The Wizard of Oz + my birthday. Use to be in the olllllden days when AOL was the only beast out there I could request "runtotorun" all day long as a username, but no more. . .
Where do you work: Right now I am doing contract work. My resume says something about mental health, social service, psychotherapy, or something or another. I am an animal-rescuing, bug-saving, biophilic, Tao-aspiring, Type A-in-Recovery who occasionally goes into disguise as an LSCSW.
Other interests: My husband, our vicious beast and savage mongrel, Marigold and Fangie, our families, *trying* to have our own furless addition, playing the guitar, listening to my husband play the guitar (which reminds me that I am "playing"), music, art, film, poetry, nature, back massages, strawberries, Thai and Indian food, dancing to music no one else hears, spinning under stars, blowing dandelions, traipsing through streams and up mountains, and celebrating life.
Favorite Restaurant: Right now I am going with Taj Mahal. I neeeeeed some Indian food at least once a week, so if I can talk my husband out of his neeeeeed for Chinese then I can get my fix! :)
Something we may not all know about you: Well I guess I can join the club with the other cheerleaders here. I was a cheerleader for ten years but a heavy metal/hard rock mistress on the weekends! :wink: We still had "Senior Personalities" when I was in high school, and I was PO'd with what I ended up with. It should have been "Most Likely to Succeed" or "Funniest." It was NOT. Instead I was voted *hairball* "Most Popular" and almost screamed, "WTF?" My undergrad degrees are in English and Theatre, and I once played the role of a a fuzzy carpenter beaver. . . :lol:

Well, here's a random oddity: The only kind of pig meat I'll eat is bacon, the only kind of poultry I'll eat is boneless/skinless white meat chicken, the only cow meat I'll eat is cheeseburger, and the only seafood I'll eat is shrimp.

Additional Comments: I never really was into reading at all, but now that I joined this forum, I am amazed at how much I will read... Explain your screen-name: I picked it up many years ago in Jr. High School. It comes from Tom Sawyer. Tom's black friend called him Mars Tom, meaning Master Tom. So I took on Mars Roy or just Mars R.
Where do you work: Local software company.
Other interests: I have created a mini Japanese type garden in my backyard with three connecet ponds with waterfalls, koi & goldfish, trees, flowers, shrubs, lanterns, walkways, etc. It's still a work in progress.

Mods: Technigas "frankensaust", custom airbox mods, weights, contra spring, LED turnsignals (front and rear), tried HID... now running PIAA HS1 bulb. On the "to-do" list are jetting, graphics and dr pulley sliding weights. A tachometer would be nice too.
Goals for your Scooter(s): Still looking for that sweet spot in tuning a 2 stroke, I know it's out there and I'm gonna find it.
What draws you to Scooters: Had motorcycles and like the practicality of a scooter more. The fun factor on a scooter is way higher. And I really don't give a s*it what other people think of my transportation.
What do you dislike about scooters: Limited availability of information and parts when it comes to tuning your scooter. The lack of knowledge of the so called professionals out there. Ask the same question 3 times, get three different answers.
Explain your screen-name: I've been living, breathing and selling Nissans for over ten years now. I have product knowledge that's pretty tough to beat and still really enjoy cars.
Where do you work: Middletown Nissan CT
Other interests: My family, friends, working on vehicles and hanging out at the Jersey Shore.
Favorite Restaurant: La Boca mexican restaurant. Good food, nice menu and I can take my 3 yr old there!
Something we may not all know about you: I'm a very stubborn person and can easily get pissed off. Not because I'm an angry person but because I get passionate about the things I choose to do. If I want to do it... it better turn out right. On the good side I'm pretty relaxed about most things, after all I have no control over a majority of what happens. Give me some time to spend with good people in a good place with some good food and drinks and it's all good :)
Additional Comments: Enjoy the little things in life and what you've got, there's other people in the world that may have more than you... but most likely there's more people that have less than you. Stop whining about how you don't have a 1000" plasma TV and be thankful you have the time to watch any TV in the first place.

You are tired??? Oh, THANK doG! Now I don't feel so old. We were just sprawling on the couch last night feeling olllllllllld. Elan was reminiscing about when we were 25 years old and could be going all weekend long and still keep going, but last night we were silly looking exhausted people. :wink: I kept telling him the heat was draining, and we had to exert a lot of mental focus. . .yeah, that's what it was. :D

Yeah, I made a quick run to Petsmart for chewies for the dog so that I could go home and take a nap without interruption. I took that nap, ate the pizza that cooked while I was napping and then went to bed. I'm still tired though!

Something we may not all know about you: Through HS and Junior High my ambition was to be a sideshow freak. At one point I could eat fire, hammer a nail into my face, and walk on broken glass... Sadly I have lost all of these abilities (It seems that kissing someone who eats fire is like kissing a gas-pump)

What draws you to Scooters: Riding is a lot of fun. And the gas mileage.

What do you dislike about scooters: The obnoxious child in my neighborhood that tried to race me on his bicycle. I’m not on a toy you little turd. Other than that, I like it all so far.

Explain your screen-name: My wife once had a cat named Butterscotch, and in a fit of playfulness I told her that Butero was Spanish for Butterscotch. Then the cat’s kidneys broke and we had to have him put to sleep. He was 17 and had a big cataract eye. I took the name butero in honor of him.

Where do you work: At a dead end job.

Other interests: Music. I have many instruments. Some I can halfway play, and some I can merely make noise with. If you want to start a band let me know. I also like to read. And I like to watch sports but I can’t play them. Plus I like the History Channel.

Favorite Restaurant: I like Taco Bell a lot but I don’t know why. Maybe because I used to work there. I also love Hungry Howies (respect to KRUSTYburger) but I don’t live in Florida anymore and there aren’t any in this part of Georgia.

You are not alone. It took me 11 years, 4 different majors and 3 schools to graduate from college as well. My degree was not in English (that was major #2), but in Elected Studies. Elected Studies is a way of saying you've gone to school far too long and have enough credits to graduate, so go already.

Mods: mojito - mechanical: malossi 70cc kit, leo vince pipe, malossi variator (rollers & springs changed too), 19mm carb, upgear kit, holes drilled in the airbox, conti zippy's. cosmetic: removed dot signals, re-wired euros, replaced rear signals w/flushmount ones, removed plate holder/light and relocated under tail light, chrome legshield rails, chrome grips, chrome edging, racing stripes, r.a.f. (mod) targets, replaced reflectors with led's for running lights.
both buddys - mechanical: threw away those god-awful chinese tires and replaced w/ conti zippys. cosmetic: cut off rear mudguard, chrome racks, chrome edging, racing stripes, painted passenger foot plates black, low windshield.

Goals for your Scooter(s): to get my mojito to 65-70mph (almost there), to have fun.

What draws you to Scooters: don't know...maybe because my dad had them, maybe my interest in mod culture, maybe because i like to tinker with mechanical things, but most of all because they're fun to ride.
