Blur - Front fog/driving lights

Post by bicyclerider »

I finally got this completed today. The lights have been sitting on my bench for 5 months.
They are really bright, but only paid 10 bucks for them in the sale bin at the auto parts store. I mounted them on the outside of the fork/fender with the existing fender screw.
They light up the sides of the road like daytime. A few adjustments out driving and I think I may like them even more.
Just a few things, I installed a small switch to turn them on and off, but I wired them into the High-beam wires. The cool part is, I can run them with the High beams or turn them off. Also, when I flash the High beams, the fog lights flash.
As with any fog light install, I did install a relay - this included running a fused power wire from the battery to the relay. I also made custom wire looms for each of the lamps. I grounded them on the back side of the horn bracket.
I will take some detailed daytime photos in the next few days and add them to this post.

Here's a rough shot of the fender LED's at night as well. I didn't use a tri-pod so, sorry about the quality. You can also see how bright the new fog lights are.

In two days, LED tail light install, front Fog lights, a new really loud car horn and I replaced the original headlamp with a Sylvania Silverstar.

I think I am finished messing with the scoot for awhile.
next project is installing PIA driving lights for my Forester.

if anyone has questions, about any of this - I would be happy to answer them.

You might try putting a volt meter on your battery with those lights on. The charging systems in these things leave a bit to be desired.
