Maybe he rides it that way? But someone was being nosy in his top case?
There is a guy who rides a vintage vespa that is badly bent, but it still rides fine.

Think I actually saw that scoot in Capital Hill yesterday.
That sucks. Should have protected the cookies from a potential thief.

Yes, the hamburgler did it. He thought maybe the top case had hamburgers inside when the bike was clearly parked at a Denny's.

It just looks like a stoppie gone horribly wrong to me.
Either that, or maybe Napoleon Dynamite took it off a sweet jump.

WOW !
in looking at the pictures it looks like it got rear ended and pushed towards the car in front (probably a truck as there is almost no damage to the front fender) and pushed it hard enough to fold the frame in half !
The rider is either very lucky or in a hospital bed.. Damn, hope she/he is OK.
Beer is the answer . . . what was the question?

It looks like it got rear-ended to me. There is a decided lack of seat-front-to-glove-box clearance in that photo. There's also a lot of air space where there should be none.
If my Buddy looked like that, I would've eaten all the cookies myself in a sorrowful binge.

Interesting - I was talking at lunch with a guy who lives near downtown who said he sees an Orange Buddy in his area a lot, it's parked outside unchained every night. I wonder if this is it...

i should leave them a message on the scooter and tell them I will buy the old transmission and motor off of them if they dont have insurance, or if their insurance is gonna total it. It would just be nice to have my own personal stock pile of extra parts... hmmmmmmm

There's a plate on it, so I'd say not just dumped...yet.
And who dumps cookies?

Well they didn't use Roadside Assistance
or take their cookies/groceries. Maybe the rider was hurt and left via ambulance, or maybe the Buddy was kidnapped and wrecked. . .

well from what i could gather there was no blood in the street... good sign #1, I have also been checking to see if there are any news stories about it or anything on the interweb about it... havent found anything so far... so good sign #2 whatever it is worth.

Probably joyrider...Rode it like they stole it, which they did...then they wrecked it and ran...
Yes, it's fast. No, you can't ride it.

I'd call the po-lice.. Even if I wrecked it, I wouldnt want someone walking by and taking parts from it.
I cant even imagine how the heck you would do that, let alone what the driver must look like.

I'm thinking that if someone had been riding it, and taken to a hospital in an ambulance, then there would have been a call into the police to have the accidenct checked out and reported, and the buddy would be brought in and not left out like that.
There are lots of other scenarios I can think of, and the best one is that it was stolen and dumped out of a truck...no, best one is that it was parked and got squashed between two vehicles. All the other scenarios are far worse... (ok ok, so I have a gruesome imagination).
Whatever the scenario, I'd suggest contacting the police and reporting it and maybe you could ask them if the owner/rider is in the hospital or whatever. If the scooter was merely stolen and then dumped, then the police would contact the owner and at least the owner would know.

where on denny is this?
i'm wondering if someone smashed into it while it was parked, then moved it onto the sidewalk to get it out of the way.
