2900 miles too many??

Post by minski »

Didnt see anything about this (of course that doesnt mean its not here) so here I go. I am looking at a Rattler 50 with 2900 miles on it. Is that too many for one of these or do they got alotta life left at this point? They are asking $900.Thanks.Adam.

It should have a lot of life left in it provided it's been well-maintained. Do they have the service records?

That's a pretty nice price!

not sure on the service records I will ask. What should there be? Are there set mileage "tuneups"?

how much service would you have at 2900? Maybe a few oil changes? an air filter?

Yup, a first dealer service, then probably one oil and filter change. I'm not totally sure of the intervals on a Rattler.

In fact, you may get more responses in the Rattler forum:

i did my first gear oil change at 200 and then again at 1000. after that it's every 1000 miles i believe, but i'd have to dig out my book in the garage to double check. i haven't done the filter yet...though i probably should at least check it.
