Top Gear on two wheels

Post by Asburyjer »

Ok, I did a search and came up with nothing, so if this is a repost then please feel free to close this or whatever.

Anyways I'm a HUGE Top Gear fan (BBC America) I watch it every week with my family, anyways its a car show in the UK with three guys; Jeremy, James and Richard it is a show that takes its autos seriously and has a great time while doing so. Well last year's season finally they were taken to Vietnam and given roughly $1000 to buy transportation then given the challenge to drive from Ho-Chi-Minh city (Siagon) to the Ha Long Bay in the North of Vietnam in 1 week.

I wish I could find the whole episode. (BTW, does anyone know how to embed a video?)

Enjoy:

I drove some of those roads but had to dodge tanks, convoys, the occasional rocket and random sniper fire. Quite a few flat tires were found to have a bullet hole. Talk about road rage!

See, I knew it must have been, but after searching "top gear" it came up with nothing...oh well. I love this episode though, simply the best, after watching it the first time in the spring I gained a whole new appreciation for scooting and really it was what got me interested in buying a scoot for myself.

Our search function is actually better than a lot of forums, but it it still is hard to find things sometimes. Too many hits, but seriously, every time I hear "Born in the USA" I see that episode in my head.

My favorite quote: "Children, if you are watching this and don't know why this is inappropriate, ask your mom and dad."

"inappropriate" yeah...that's an understatement of epic proportions. Look up "inappropriate" in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of that Jeremy Clarkson standing next to that USA bike.

Haha! Until today I'd never heard of that show so I watched the episode. What a hilarious entertaining hour! I loved it.

Glad you could find it on the web. I was totally entertained. It was funny right to the last second of the second part.

If you've never heard of it, quickly get as many episodes as possible. Its absolutely fantastic. It manages to be both a gear head car show, and super entertaining at the same time. My wife will even watch it with me, and she's not at all into vehicles :)

We watch this all the time and the best part is that a new season started last night!! w00t! Jeremy Clarkson is my fav...and no its not because we have the same name...well maybe a little. I just love his "snarky can't be bothered with anything less than the best" attitude. That and I love the way they are always teasing one another.

Best show on Earth!

Sweet! I hear "The Stig" removes his helmet this season...shown in the UK, but the video is banned from the BBC America site if you're in the states.

Yes he does, but they also insinuate that that MAY not actually be the stig. The actual Stig accidentally revealed who he was, and its show policy to kill off the Stig if his identity is ever revealed. Thats what happened to the original Stig. There's also blackstigback.com to support that theory.

This does not surprise me in the least that these guys would pull something like this to keep us on our toes. Great job guys!

+1. From my understanding this began due to "the Stig's" F-1 contractual obligations and it just grew from there.
