Buddy "Tiger" Mod
And so it begins. These furry add-ons were originally meant to be put on a helmet, but make the perfect Hobbesian accessory for my wife's Buddy.
The tail is actually bolted to the rear mudguard. The ears, for the moment, are merely attached with suction cups. I plan on drilling holes in the headset cover and attaching them permanently, though.

Just a little bit farther on the mod. Note that these stripes are not, in fact, white -- they're black reflective tape that glow when hit directly by a headlight. During the day, they'll look much more like tiger stripes than they do here.

these are awesome.
That black reflective tape seems like really cool stuff. I've seen some pre-cut graphics made out of it. Where do you get the "raw" stuff?

There's a couple places:punkelf wrote:That black reflective tape seems like really cool stuff. I've seen some pre-cut graphics made out of it. Where do you get the "raw" stuff?
Applied Graphics - Look for "Pin Striping"
Ride Safer Motorcycle Safety Products - Look for "Reflective Tapes"
And for pre-cut graphics, my favorite is Ultimate Decals.
In the pictures, I'm using strips of 2"-wide black reflective tape (from a roll), cut out to the shape of tiger stripes.

The jury is still out on that. It sticks pretty well to the smooth plastic, less so to the textured plastic. I think it would be easy to accidently scrape off a piece of tape from the textured parts.keezy wrote:How does the tape hold up to wear and tear?
No, it's not that sticky. It comes off easily enough, with minimal sticky residue.keezy wrote:Also, does it mess with the paint if you peel it off... or even when first putting it on and you slip mess up?
